Longtime public servant and conservative activist, strategist, and leader Court Koenning is a Texas native and son of a construction engineer and homemaker.
Court graduated from Texas A&M University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a minor in Business. He has two young sons – Carson (17) and Cade (14).
He also is a popular fixture on ABC-13 KTRK in Houston as a political analyst.
But the political leader known for his candor and take-no-prisoners style had a life-changing event on August 23, 2010. That was the day Court was piloting a single-engine aircraft that crashed after an aborted landing at a small airfield north of Houston.
Clinging to life after saying a hurried prayer before impact, Court was flown by LifeFlight (Medevac) to the Texas Medical Center. Friends and family gathered and expected the worst. The injuries were extensive.
Court endured 13 life-saving surgeries, three weeks in the hospital and five months on the mend. With the help of doctors, nurses, friends and family, he fought back, and fought back hard.
Court is also a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and serves in leadership positions on multiple HLSR committees. He is also a director for the Humble ISD Education Foundation and a Director of Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse.
The Koennings are members of the First Presbyterian Church in Houston.
