Our family of four (me, my husband and 8 & 5 year olds) stayed at this apartment for 12 nights in early april. We simply could not have picked a better rental. First, the location is amazing--it's located on a piazza so there is no traffic immediately outside the entrance; it is close to 3 different bus stops and the taxi stand is just one block away. You can easily walk to everything, including the Vatican, however we often took busses or taxis just to save our kids' energy. The grocery is less than a block away & has everything one needs. On the same block are several restaurants, gelato stores, souvenir stores & a Tabacchi where you buy bus tickets. So convenient!!
The apartment itself is exactly how it looks in the photos. It is spacious, meticulously clean and absolutely charming. Everything was in good working order and having a washing machine was terrific, especially with kids. There is a good deal of storage space in the bedroom and a utility closet. The apartment is on the 3rd & 4th floors; you enter on the 4th. There are both stairs and an elevator; just know that the elevator only goes to the 3rd floor so you do have one flight of stairs to get to the door. We were very happy to find the WiFi worked extremely well (always hit or miss in Europe) and we never ran out of hot water even after 4 showers. There is plenty of sunlight and fresh air on the main level due to the tall windows & balcony. Everything about the apartment was comfortable! I should also note that is has lovely rooftop views and is very quiet.
Giacomo was terrific to work with. He was always very prompt with an email response to any questions I had prior to the trip or during. He arranged for us to get a hired car to and from the airport which was a godsend with children and lots of luggage. Because we were there for over a week he even came midway through our stay to change the bedding. Nice touch!
We rent condos, apartments & houses quite often as our family loves to travel and all 4 of us agreed this was, by far, our favorite rental! We already miss the charm of both Rome and apartment Polluce. You simply won't find a better rental than this in the heart of Rome. Thank you, Giacomo, for a truly memorable vacation!!

We stayed for a month and didn't want to leave! The apartment is small, but very functional and the balcony overlooking the city was wonderful.
We spent 4 nights at the Castore and really appreciated the central location. We have been to Rome several times but usually stayed near the train station. We found the apartment a comfortable place to relax in the evening and my wife enjoyed her morning coffee sitting on the small balcony. Being at the end of long vacation, we had no desire to cook so we did not take advantage of the kitchen other than to heat water and use the microwave. We also appreciated the fact that the apartment has the quietest bedroom that we have ever slept in. The only noise we heard was a massive thunder clap one early morning. The bathroom had a tub with a hand shower.
We would certainly stay here again and would recommend it to those looking for a convenient central location.
We so enjoyed our stay for 4 days/3 nights right in the center of everything near Pantheon. Giacomo, owner, was very helpful, responsive and friendly--a delight to deal with--helped with transfer from airport to apt and with restaurant recs. The apt was well appointed in the kitchen and bath. Everything we needed was there for making coffee, eggs and toast for breakfast and appetizers/cocktails in the evening. You could cook a simple dinner there for 2-3. We had breakfast every morning on the balcony as well as cocktails in the evening. Lovely. King bed was very comfortable. Plenty of hanging and drawer space for clothes. Living room area and sofas were comfortable and generous for two. Bath had nice tub and shower, bidet and sink. Linens were average. AC works well; we only used it one night. There is plenty of cross ventilation via windows in every room. The elevator to the 4th floor is handy. Beyond that, you still have about 10-12 steps to climb to reach the apt. Wasn't a problem but be aware. We had no problem with noise. It was quiet at night. I would recommend this apartment to others who want comfort, casual and totally functional--nothing baroque and no gold leaf! We would stay there again for sure.
Charming apartment in a great location to most big sites. Neighborhood has everything you might need in walking distance. Great place to see Rome from!
The Castore apartment is in a great location, easy distance to the Pantheon, Campo de Fiori, the Ghetto, Trastevere. Giacomo told us which bus to catch from the train station and which stop, met us at the building and got us settled in, and also arranged for an early morning pick-up to the airport at the end of our six-night stay. Tiny kitchen, but fine to make coffee in the morning (stove-top espresso pot - there was a single and a 3-cup pot). A/C was greatly appreciated, as was the elevator. Has satellite TV in living room and bedroom, which we didn't use. Comfy couch, but stained - could use a slipcover. Our only complaint would be the bed; it was a rock hard futon pad, very much like sleeping on the ground; that definitely needs an upgrade.
Self catering apartment. You will find toilet paper, hand soap, liquid soap for hand wash dishes and a few tablets for the dishwasher.
Probably salt, sugar, spices, coffee...
Any other appliance is not provided, the supermarket is nearby
