Spacious, airy room at the top with gorgeous, unforgettable views that fill you with peace. Perfectly central location. Large, traditional, apartment w tasteful updates to kitchen and bathroom. Lots of privacy and room to spread out for our family of 6 ppl across 3 generations. Big, round kitchen table and great kitchen. Two bedrooms adjoin and you need to go through one to get to one of the bathrooms. This was fine since we were there w our kids. My parents had a room well apart with another bathroom and there is a 3rd bathroom between the kitchen and the special view room. Regarding the negative review—I mention it since it gave me pause when I was looking; we were there in summer so cannot speak to the heating but the AC was great and we had no problems w plumbing or hot water. WiFi was strong in kitchen, dining, both living rooms, and one bedroom but did not work in our two bedrooms. The place was *very* peaceful and quiet in full tourist season. To be sure, it has some furnishings that are older/antique: we prefered that infinitely to cheap modern furniture. The apartment’s character and stately grace are what made it, for us, such a wonderful place to stay in this city. Those requiring all the amenities and conveniences of new construction in the U.S. would indeed be better off in a new hotel but we, also from the U.S., were completely satisfied. Elevator. A peaceful place to come home to. The managers were responsive and communication was no problem.
Good location and roomy apartment. Cold, dark and plumbing not great. Was not a 1st class experience
Noisy at night, dark and cold. Thermostat is on timer. No standing shower- tub only except for a makeshift powder room that has a shower on wall and drain in middle of room. Not impressed with furnishings- not enough towels. For the price you’re better off in a hotel.
Better than advertised
It has than beautiful view of the Duomo. The location is great, we walked everywhere. Would recommend to all
The property location and view are amazing. So close to the train station and the Duomo.
Very neat apartment. Great experience. Only recommendation is more lighting in the dining and bedroom areas
Really set the tone and bar high at the start of my trip
Really created many awesome memories in this leg of my trip. Was in Italy for 13 days and in Florence for 6. Initially stayed at a location a little away from center our first 3 days and enjoyed that...but this ...WOW.
Started with Ilaria, the property mgr, being really accommodating and communicative during the whole process - it's really hard cell phone wise traveling abroad so it was easy to keep in touch with her through text and when we had wifi.
She met with us and showed us everything about the unit and explained dos and donts, and how to operate doors, elevator (yay!) and other appliances. The unit was really spacious, clean, beautiful, historic and perfectly located. I can attest to the convenience of being in the middle of it all since I have stayed a little farther away previously - it really pays to be close in. Being able to find places to eat, grocery shop all so convenient. So many activities close to Duomo - we saw street performers, caught a parade in Duomo where the years first batch of chianti wines were delivered by white Oxens.- so many many other cool happenings. After climbing bell tower and Duomo on the same day (it was fun trying to find the unit from above the towers) it's cool to not have far to walk to get back to the hotel.
The amenities are great, the kitchen modern, the dining room with the huge round table perfect as a hub - especially with wi-fi signal strongest there. Every window has really interesting views even the bathrooms ^^ The beds were comfy. The historic age of the place also added some funny moments - because I am such a scaredy cat, who watch ghost shows, with an overactive imagination, so really got a kick from scaring myself silly at nights fortunately my companions just laugh at my silliness.
The crowning jewel of course is the highest floor with the Duomo view. The way that the scene changes throughout the day, and everyday, the way the clouds almost accessorizes it with different looks, feel and mood - it was so amazing. I couldn't even believe we were seeing what we were seeing. Every morning we run upstairs to view the sunrise - never gets old, so glorious! The bells tolling every hour, or even random times, the musical chimes so pleasing and just a novel feeling that will stay will you even after your trip. One of the most memorable favorite things about Italy.
If you have a big group and want room to spread out, this place definitely gives you that. Really enjoyed staying here
Great location incredible view
Our family truly enjoyed our stay at the golden view apartment. It’s very large and centrally located. We arrived by train and walked to the location easily. The only downside is two of the bedrooms are adjoining with a bath off only one. The third bath is not adjacent a bedroom and very small. We made do with that arrangement just fine. The top living room is where we spent happy hour enjoying the incredible view prior to going out in the evening . I would like to note that the antiques and decor is charming but some upholstery and rugs are extremely worn. Rug in master bath needs repaced. Also the floors needed to be more throughly cleaned. Our checkin and check out very easy.
