A beautiful holiday
We had the most amazing and peaceful time at Beverley’s beautiful home. Beverley was so kind and friendly whilst making it seem as if we were alone. The house is in the most tranquil rural setting with views over rolling hills and fields that you could look at all day. A herd of limousine cows wandered in a nearby field and the occasional tractor rumbled past. You can walk from the house in several directions and Beverley has cycles too. The house is huge, we have three children and it really felt that we all had space to play and read. Beverley has provided everything you might need from beach towels to a candle for evening drinks. The kitchen has everything you could need and was spotlessly clean with good quality equipment. We cooked at home most days and eat on the table and chairs on the decking area which catches the evening sun. The lounge has a tv with DVD player and a huge selection of films that our children loved. The three bedrooms are really big with comfy beds and plenty of storage. The picture window in one of the double rooms looks out over the pool and is a great spot to read or star gaze. The pool is amazing, deep enough at one end to dive into which our boys loved and with plenty of inflatables.
We visited a couple of beautiful local villages with great markets. The bakery at Massignac is a gem with such a friendly owner and gorgeous tarts and pastries and there was a small Sunday market there when we visited. We also walked around the lakes but to be honest we all really just wanted to be at the beautiful house or swimming in the pool.
Thank you so much Beverley, we all felt truly sad to leave you and we would love to visit again.
Thank you for the fab review! I loved having you as guests, and am so pleased you had a happy time here. Missing the sound of the children playing in the pool!
This was thé best “maison” experience we had so far in France. A most amiable hostes. A spacious home with thick walls, which was necessary regarding the 40+ temperatures. A cool pool with assorted toys. A great garden to play soccer and badminton. A big parking space to play “pétanque”. And, for colder days, a “hangout” attic for the youngsters. We had a wonderful week and will be back.
It was a pleasure having you to stay, and it would be lovely to see you all again another year. Many thanks.
A wonderful relaxing stay in Maison L'Allee
We returned a few days ago from a fortnight's stay at Maison L'Allee. After renting a few properties in France this has to be our best find yet and here's why:
1. Spacious rooms, comfortable living areas, fully equipped kitchen and utility, clean and tidy throughout. The house stays lovely and cool inside when it's hot outside and is a lovely typically French style.
2. Huge pool (with a lockable gate for safety with children), lovely big garden which our children enjoyed making some adventures games in, plenty of space and places to hide & seek. The garden is shaded with tall trees, a welcome break from the intense heat we had during our stay..a good spot to BBQ too!
3. The views..just wow! Take in the view of the fields from the poolside, on the deck or up on the top floor through the picture window, it is just lovely. Also the view over the pool from the bedrooms is something just wonderful to open the curtains too every morning. We saw numerous wildlife around us in the open countryside.
4. The peace and quiet...huge peaceful dark skies full of stars, sunsets galore, no traffic noise, in fact little noise at all except the grasshoppers at night, the owl and the neighbouring cows. If you are looking for a break from noise and light pollution this is the place for you, we slept so well!
5. Plenty to do nearby, to mention just a few we enjoyed Confolens, Limoges, Angouleme, the roman baths, Rouchfouchauld castle and the Adventure Park just a few minutes away was great fun for our children. There are so many lovely little towns within 1/2 hour drive radius and the market at Piegut Pluviers (wed am) on recommendation from Beverley was a treat for any market fan. There are plenty of supermarkets and local shops for groceries not too far away in all directions.
Maison L'Allee is a fabulous home from home to stay in, Beverley was around in her house if we had needed her for anything but you wouldn't know she is there as the 2 houses are quite separate with each it's own driveway. When we did catch up with Beverley, she has a wealth of knowledge on the local area and her recommendations were spot on. She has made an information pack in the house with brochures and maps which we found very useful.
We highly recommend Maison L'Allee, thank you Beverley for sharing your superb house.

I’m really pleased you liked the house so much, and so glad you enjoyed exploring the local area. It would be great to see you all again in a year or two!
A lovely country rental
We would thoroughly recommend this property as a holiday rental - the house is beautiful and very comfortable with every convenience and amenity. Beverley (the owner) was always on hand to sort out any little issues and to offer advice on local places to visit, but also respected our privacy and left us to enjoy the peace and quiet unless we sought her out. The grounds were lovely, with a good sized pool, mature garden with a choice of sunny or shady sitting places and gorgeous views. Our daughter (almost a teenager) appreciated the loft room on the second floor as a 'den' and enjoyed the excellent wifi available from there. We had good weather during our stay and appreciated the thick walls of the house which kept the interior lovely and cool even on the hottest days. One final thing, the bathroom features a wonderful shower, the best we've ever encountered in a holiday rental.
Thanks for taking the time to send such a lovely review.....I'm so pleased you all enjoyed your stay.
The photos for this property, did it do it justice! It exceeded all our expectations
We had a wonderful holiday staying at this property! The facilities were everything we were expecting and the pool was gorgeous! It was lovely and spacious, clean and very well equipped! Beverley was so helpful and gave a great recommendation for the market at 'Piegut'. Nothing was too much trouble! The property was well placed for local amenities and the beautiful lakes which we cycled round and swam in! Near to Angouleme and Limoges but the local villages were just as pretty! Beverley was a great host and I would thoroughly recommend this property as one of the best we have stayed in, in France and very reasonable given the amenities available!
I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. It was a pleasure to have you as guests, and I'm very grateful for your kind comments.
Lovely family holiday
Had a fab week staying at this lovely farmhouse with its own private pool which the children loved. The property was immaculate with everything we needed. Beverley made us feel very welcome and on hand if required. It was so relaxing to sit out in the evenings with a glass (or two) of wine and enjoy the quietness of the countryside. Really recommend visiting oradour-sur-glane. The river beaches nearby were great for canoeing and the food in the café tasty and inexpensive. Many thanks for a lovely week.
