Beautiful spacious villa in lively little town
Tha villa was a very good size with plenty of space in doors an out. Very quirky with lots of lovely artwork Well equipped kitchen. Plenty of books and dvds although didn't need to watch any. Great little town square 10 min walk away with great restaurants and bars.
Slight negative -would benefit from a little TLC and could have been cleaner but these are minor points. We had a great time
The villa is tardis like, it looks small from the outside but its massive once you get in. We had everything we needed while we were there.
We hired a car and it gave us more flexibility so get around and see more sites. The villa is only 10 minutes walk into Xaghra and there are shops, butchers, bars and restaurants. The top floor bedroom is gorgeous with a massive bed, great views and a big bath.
I would definitely book this Villa again if we were going to Gozo.
Five star accommodation in a quiet village yet within walking distance of the busy village square.
This villa exceeded all expectations. It was beautiful, all arches and corners, with a grand staircase to the first floor and quirky spiral stone staircase to the top master suite. The two other bedrooms each had a wet room. Although very large, the furnishings, pictures and wall hangings made it cosy and comfortable. The large kitchen, open to the lounge, was well equipped. The pool and outside area caught the sun for most of the day and the spacious roof terrace added an extra place to relax. A small ‘snug’ gave the kids a place of their own to watch tv or use iPads.
The village is on top of a hill and the roads up are steep. There are some lovely views. It is a very quick drive to Victoria and Ramla beach. Of course, no where is far away on Gozo. The village square with shop and restaurants is a few minutes walk away.
We really liked Gozo. It was very clean and much quieter than Malta.
We highly recommend this villa and would love to stay there again.
The key feature we search for when booking family accommodation during August in the Mediterranean is air conditioning. This property was advertised as having air conditioning, which it does, but at an additional and expensive cost using electricity cards which seem to be available only via the owner's maid. On arriving in the middle of a heatwave, this piece of information would have been most useful ahead of arriving, better still, ahead of making the booking in the first place. It's an expensive way and seemingly outdated way of buying electricity as we were unable to buy the cards over the counter.
This is undoubtedly a lovely property but certainly requires a bit more attention to detail to be fully enjoyed.
The Ac system operates on a card system to encourage guests to switch the units off when not required. I appreciate that we all can forget to turn of units when on holiday. The problem that can arise is the units ice up and stop working properly, having to be left for several hours before normal operation can occur.
It is stated on my listing that the AC's work on prepaid cards. However, I can see that it could be over looked when viewing information on the villa and am now informing all guests about the AC cards..I am also providing 3 complimentary cards for the AC's on arrival so no inconvenience is caused to the start of the holiday. Re: this review the guests received complimentary AC cards for any inconvenience caused on arrival.
Great villa in a great location
A fantastic villa! It has character and style and a real homely feel. The terrace and the pool are are just great and everything worked just as it should.
The area is really great too. Safe and central to the whole island and everything that is available. Just nearby however is a fantastic square with some lovely restaurants and bars.
Stefan could not have been more helpful and was around to offer advice and help.
Top spot. Can't recommend enough!
We have been taking villa holidays for 30 years and over that time have stayed in many countries. This is definitely one of the best villas we have had the pleasure of visiting. It is well laid out, spacious, immaculately furnished and superbly well equipped. The owner is a delightful chap - helpful and responsive. I suppose the fact that we have already booked for next year, and invited our grown up sons, their wives and children to join us, suggests that actions speak louder than words. Really looking forward to 2018!
