The Gateway is the perfect location to experience the old city center while enjoying the easy connection to the train station for your journeys.

Maps, informations, useful tips and suggestions about the city of Bologna and surroundings are already at THE GATEWAY. Though, I will be always available for info, tips and help.

Next to the apartment is ‘Via Indipendenza' under the famous arcades of Bologna, where you can shop, sightsee the local market during weekends, taste local cuisine; The apartment has two ‘Gateway': either you can go to train station on one side or ‘Piazza Nettuno', ‘2 towers' (from the top, when weather is good, is possible to see the sea and the Alps) and the ‘Basilica di S.Petronio' (the fifth largest church in the world and the last big Gothic church realized in Italy) on the other one.

THE GATEWAY is very convenient to visit the old city on foot, lunching at home while relaxing and preparing your meal with products of the Bolognese gastronomy purchased from the most characteristic stores of the city:

as the famous ‘Mercato di Mezzo', a market town of medieval origins.

Supermarkets, restaurants and pizzerias, local markets and attractions are really close to home.

-Less than 200 meters (less than 5 min walking) or all bus solutions just around the corner (for heavy luggages only)

AIRPORT
-5 km or 30 minutes with Airbus (ticket: € 6), stop to train station + less than 5 min walk.

FIVE STARS

We (2 adults and 4 kids) spent a few nights at Antonio's apartment and really enjoyed staying here. Apartment is very convenient, in a good shape, clean and has enough space and everything you need. Food store is just around the corner. Two restaurants are across the street. The pizzeria across the street was very convenient and we enjoyed the food there. It is also situated very close to the train station, so it was easy to take day trips to Florence and Venice. Antonio and his parents were extremely welcoming and Antonio was available (either by email or mobile) to answer questions or give recommendations. We hope to return to Bologna someday and would definitely stay here again!

Super...Could not be better!!

My husband, son, and I were received by Antonio and his parents. The apartment was very clean, and exactly as in the pictures. It was like coming home. They gave us wine,pasta, pomodoro, a home baked chocolate cake! Fantastic!!!! Beds are very comfy, the two bathrooms and the washing machine very convenient. You can catch the buses around the corner to reach every spot in town. Go to Supermarkets (Coop and many minimarkets) and buy your groceries there. Antonio and his family were great, we felt treated like family. Very clean, well stocked apartment, full of maps, books and things to help you move around Bologna (lists of restaurants and places to see close to Bologna and how to reach all of them). Make sure you walk in the center under its awesome porticoes: the city is like an outdoor museum! Also, the food is outstanding!!! I would definitely go back to Bologna and stay at The Gateway again!

Large roomy 2 bdrm 2 bath

Lovely building. Large apt. All amenities there to make for a comfortable stay. Quick 5 min walk to the train station. 10 min walk to Piazza Maggiore. Lovely cafes near apt, especially Nuevo Cafe. Supermarket 5 min walk. Balcony with apt. Washer/dryer. Wonderful. Owner was lovely as was the concierge. Very comfortable stay.

Wonderful stay- great location

Great location minutes from train station. Great base camp for trips to Florence Venice etc. Apartment is roomy with 2 full baths. Antonio and his parents are great hosts.

Great Bologna Apartment

Might have been the best VRBO ever! Modern, Clean, Local to train and Center city. Host was great and his parents who greeted us are wonderful! I would stay of a month or two!

This property is uniquie because it is one of the very few easily connected with the very heart of Bologna, the Central Train Station, Highway, AIrport and the Fair district.

You can literally walk from your living room to the train station in less than 5 min walking and enjoy the panorama of Bologna's arcades.
