Wonderful family gathering
We celebrated my sons graduation from Montana State University. My whole family came from Minnesota and this house was perfect. It had enough room for everyone with beautiful views of Bozeman. The beds were amazing and the double washers and dryers were great to have with many family members. Loved everything about the house.

Paradise in MT! Luxury Home with Gorgeous Views
Fabulous home for our group of 8 adults. Well-equipped kitchen and huge deck with mountain views made our stay a delight. Owners were fantastic to work with and a property manager met us at check-in. Highly recommend!

Mountain views were great
There were views of the mountains and Gallatin valley from almost every room. The home is well maintained and easily accommodated our large family. We enjoyed our stay.
We were disappointed in our stay. The first day I realized the home was cold and tried to turn heat up. The thermostats are locked and controlled by home owner in Iowa. I called and asked to have the thermostats unlocked so we could adjust. Was told to call them when the controls need to be adjusted and they will do it.
A king "bedroom" upstairs does not have a closet so no place to unpack and hang clothing. The King/twin "bedroom" downstairs does not have a door and windows very small and high, which doesn't seem to meet code for proper egress.
When we checked in, the local manager told us the hot tub was set and not to touch the controls. We used the tub every day and the day before checkout the tub lost it's heat and jets, with a notice of "locked" on the control panel. I contacted owner in Iowa and they couldn't fix because company who maintains hot tub doesn't work on Sunday. So we lost the use of hot tub for 24 hours.
We were in Montana to attend our son/grandson's wedding which was the day before checkout. A notice from owner was sent to me at 6:59 p.m., and I did not have my phone because we were attending the wedding. When I checked my text around 9 p.m., I was told we have to checkout by 10:00 a.m. instead of the 11:00 a.m. time on the original notice and VRBO receipt page. We worked hard to be packed, showered and ready to leave. We also had to get all the towels washed, per new rule they sent us to have all towels washed and dried prior to leaving. We had the upstairs and basement empty and ready by 10, when the cleaning people arrived. We were finishing up the packing of kitchen area and moving bags to cars. The local manager, Jack arrived, and berated us for not being out and told us to get out NOW! The homeowner changed the contracted time at the last minute and his employee was very rude and stood over us as we rushed to get out 30 minutes before the contracted time.
This is a group we added to our “Not Welcome back” list.
If you want to buy our house and permanently move in, then you can have the master codes to control the A/C and furnaces. But if you are only renting our house for a few days, then you will not get control of our entire property. My husband spoke with this group a few times and offered to change the heating settings to whatever they wanted, but that just wasn’t good enough for them.
Our home is not “cold”, it has three new furnaces and A/C systems connected to our iphone app for us, the homeowners to control.
The Mountain Hot Tub repairman told us that the hot tub water was green when he arrived. He told us that the only way to lock the controls as they did, would be if children were playing in it randomly pushing buttons and happened to hit the correct sequence of buttons that “safety locks” the tub. Since the group did this on a Sunday, there are no repairmen working until Monday morning to fix this.
There is a welcome notebook on the kitchen counter which explains the rules and check in/checkout time. It clearly states that check out is at 10:00am and guests are not allowed to stay past that time when the cleaners are there getting the house cleaned and ready for the next group. The cleaners ask for guests to please wash & dry the towels before they check out, no need to fold them, just leave them in the dryers. Groups have had no problem doing this, except for this group that didn’t even wash one towel. The cleaners have all the bedding and duvet covers to wash/dry and the entire home to clean before the next group arrives at 4:00.
If we were selling our home, then it would be listed as a 5 bedroom home. We have it set up as a 7 bedroom home for vacation rentals to accomodate large groups. The 6th bedroom is an office with a King bed and dresser set up in it. The 7th bedroom is in the basement with a King bed & twin bed, it has two egress windows, a large closet, and two leather chairs. It is a very large bedroom off the entertainment area. Groups love using this bedroom for teenagers when they visit. Overall we’ve never had guests like this that demanded so much yet treated our family so disrespectfully. Our manager arrived at 10:30 because our cleaning ladies called him saying that guests were still there sleeping in bedrooms and showering when they arrived at 10:00 to clean. Our manager came over to assist so the cleaners could get their work done. Happy to see this group depart!
This home is incredible
This home met and exceeded all of our expectations! It is absolutely gorgeous, very comfortable, spotless, and in a lovely location with 360 degree views. Our extended family of 10 people stayed here and we had plenty of room. We enjoyed photographing the deer and hawk from the big deck every morning over coffee. Lots of living areas, a big kitchen, comfortable beds and bedding, beautiful decor, two sets of washer/dryers, everything is well stocked. . . . You will love this place--newly remodeled and everything is absolutely top-notch. We hope to be able to return some day soon!

Pets are not allowed. No smoking of any kind allowed inside our home. We do not allow weddings, wedding receptions, parties, large gatherings or events here at Wild Mountain Ranch. If you intend to use our property for any of these purposes, you will be required to leave immediately without any refunds and you will lose your deposit. Hunting and/or discharging of firearms is not allowed on our property. Fireworks and campfires are not allowed due to high fire danger. Up to 16 guests maximum, adults and children allowed to stay at our home. If you have over 16 guests you must reserve our guest home on this same property: The Roost, VRBO#587952, our three bedroom guest home which sleeps 6 additional guests.
