Logement très agréable région magnifique avec plein de choses à faire. Sarlat ville magnifique et les habitants sont très agréables et courtois
Lovely and relaxing apartment
Charming apartment situated in a quiet medieval neighborhood. The apartment is well appointed with a very comfortable bedroom. The space is nicely decorated and includes warm natural stone typical of the region. From the sitting area, there is a beautiful rooftop view overlooking Sarlat. We loved our 6 night stay in Sarlat knowing that after a busy day exploring Perigord and the Dordogne Valley, we could rest and recharge in the comfort, beauty, and quiet of this lovely space.
My advice for those wishing to stay in Brigitte's wonderful apartment is to back your vehicle into Rue de Turenne about 50 meters where you will see an area where the Rue is wider which allows bags to be unloaded. You can leave your car there briefly and once checked in, Brigitte will direct you to car-parks in the area.
I highly recommend this accommodation, thank you Brigitte!
Merci Jacqueline pour votre petit message très gentil.
Bien cordialement Brigitte.
Comfortable Apartment but Beware of Owner's Deposit Policy
This was a very comfortable apartment with a lovely view of the cathedral but the cash deposit required upon arrival turned into a nightmare. The owner states that she requires the tourist tax and cleaning deposit be paid upon arrival. She offers no other way to pay except for cash. We arrived in Sarlat exhausted after traveling for two days from the U.S. We had some euros but not the exact amount required. We told her we would have it the next day which we did. We texted her but she did not respond for one week. Then she said she would come over to collect it but didn't show up. As we wanted to leave and start our day, we foolishly offered to leave the euros in her locked mailbox where she requested we leave the keys upon departure. She agreed and we wrapped them up, labeled the packet with our name, put them into the mailbox and texted her that we had done so. Again, no response until late the evening before our departure when she said she wished to meet with us at check-out time the next morning. We had an early plane to catch and had to leave before then so we sent a text letting her know that and left. We later found she had deducted 58 euros from our damage deposit paid through VRBO. We have attempted to settle and resolve this but she will not and denies that she received the 58 euros placed in her mailbox. So in fact we have paid the deposit twice. So why isn't the tax and cleaning deposit incorporated into the rent charged through VRBO instead of putting travelers through this inconvenience and stress? Also, she advertises the apartment includes a tumble dryer which it does not. It has a clothes line and towel warmer in the bathroom. It has WiFi but not a computer or tablet as shown in the picture. She wants the garbage removed but doesn't provide garbage bags nor tell you what to do with it. Responses to questions by text were minimal. Suggestion: A binder of instructions for the television, WIFI, washing machine, dishwasher, parking, and garbage removal in different languages as the owner speaks only French. Very much a shame that our stay here tainted by this experience. (One other hint for future travelers: You are not provided the address until the second deposit is paid. There are two buildings with the same address on this street. We waited for 25 minutes at the wrong apartment for the owner. The correct apartment is right next door to the art gallery. This would have been a helpful tip to know in advance.)
I think the word nightmare is a strong !!!!
As stated on the announcement, cleaning and tourist tax are to be paid on the spot. Do not be confused with the service charges that the site asks you for. The security deposit as call it called bail.
Ido not require, i ask on arrival, becausethere are tenants who leave very early as for you ! Iask to leave the money or the check on the table or in the maibox
( I do not have the machine for the cards, Itrust the tenants.)
despite your claims, the mailbox was empty, so why did you offer to pay us half the money ?
Finally you do not pay the cleaningor the touristtax.
The lie and bad time are a bad fault !!!!!
I still have your messages exchanged sept 12 by sms or Itell you that my friend cathy arrive in 15 minutes for your welcome because we were traveling. Sms og the 13 sept Icommunicate to you where is the code wifi as well as the bins and there was a roll of trash bag under the sink with the household products.
We also exchangeed messages on the VRBO site that you can not deny.
Since 2002 we do seasonal rentals and have never had a problem with our operation and partnership HOMELIDAYS.
Our main goal is that our tenants spend a very good stay.
Mr et Mme COUTURE
Séjour impeccable !
Appartement parfait! Très bien situé ! Je recommande.
Comfortable and stylish apartment
The apartment was clean and in good conditon. Well placed for the medieval town of Sarlat but handy for parking. Comfortable sofa for relaxing, tv with DVD player and cable. Kitchen was small but ok for preparing simple meals, a couple of kitchen/ bread knives would have been useful. We really enjoyed our stay.
Stylish apartment in old city
Stylish apartment in old city. Clean, quiet, all amenities. Owner helpful. Parking difficult and tv tricky to work. Serene views out windows. I recommend it.
