Nice location for exploring downtown Memphis
Townhouse only a few blocks from most of the main sites in downtown Memphis. Can easily walk to National Civil Rights Museum, Beale Street, FedEx Forum, Peabody Hotel, and historic restaurants like The Green Beetle, Gus' Fried Chicken, Dyer's Burgers, and The Arcade. We would recommend all but the last one (food at Arcade took forever/was cold).
There is a weekend hangout (bar) across the street that has some booming music, but the weather wasn't great while we were there - so things stayed relatively quiet there. A sound machine in the front bedroom helps.
In terms of the actual lodging, the place is perfectly functional, but just a little worn out. Stains on carpets, scuffed up walls. Towels were nice though.
The kitchen was small, and while it had many utensils, it lacked certain things we needed. My wife was making birthday cupcakes for our daughter...but there were no measuring cups, no can opener, no whisk, and no soft spatula. There was also no scrub brush/pad for dishes/pans. It would also be nice to have a WORKING toaster. The one they had only had heating elements that worked on the outside. The middle elements on both sides did not work. Toast had to be rotated around to cook.
A couple other minor things that would make life better for the guest: there were no facial tissues (Kleenex) anywhere in the unit. It would also be nice to have some small bar soaps for the shower and/or small shampoo bottles. All the unit had was hand soap in dispensers by the sinks.
