Dal is best known as the founder of Tweezerman producer of he world’s best eyebrow tweezers. He sold the company in 2005 and now owns IceStoneUSA.com a company that makes countertops out of recycled glass and cement at Brooklyn Navy Yard in NY. He served on the board of the Hood Canal Coalition a non-profit that successfully stopped a Pier to Pit project on the Hood Canal. He served as a Advisory Board of the Bainbridge Graduate Institute (BGI) which was 'Changing Business For Good' He has co-written, 'Raising Eyebrows, A Failed Entrepreneur Finally Gets It Right', to inspire people to start and run businesses while doing it responsibly. In1980 when he founded Tweezerman Corporation Dal practiced responsible capitalism by striving to benefit all stakeholders: including shareholders, employees, customers, vendors, and the community. He served on the Board of the He is Board Emeritus of Yes Magazine,, E.O. Naturals, Ubiquity School. Dal is the Executive Producer of nine films, four or them about the Iraq War: 'The War Tapes', 'The Ground Truth', 'Iraq for Sale' and 'Meeting Resistance' one about Sudan 'War Child, Emmanuel Jal', The Last Dalai Lama?, Dying To Know the lifelong friendship of Timothy Leary and Ram Das. and Doubting Thomas. During the Bush Administration Dal work as a citizen diplomat. NPR’s This American Life produced a show about Dal’s efforts to negotiate a cease-fire between Iraqi insurgents and the coalition forces: Man vs. History' Dal LaMagna ran for U.S. Congress twice on Long Island, New York. He ran for President of the United States in 2008 as a Democrat.
Dal received his MBA in 1971 and MPA in 2001 both from Harvard. His B.A. was earned at Providence College. He spent his Junior Year at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. He is currently living in Rhinebeck NY and Manhattan NY.
