We really loved this studio. It was perfect location for getting everywhere we wanted in Manhattan. It has easy access to the trains, buses, and taxis are readily available in this area too. There is great food options and shopping all very close.
If Ciro still has this studio available again when we come next year, we would certainly stay. He messaged us the day before check out that he was moving out and requested us to leave early.
I would only suggest three items for improvement. The lighting is terrible-the picture shows the studio with staged lighting. You have to turn every light on including the bathroom to see at all. Even just changing to bright white lights would improve this. There were no hand towels for bathroom but plenty of towel space. It would have been nice to have 2 more towels. There also was no floor/bath mat when getting out of the shower, and the shower leaks out of bottom as there is a one inch gap at bottom. I would also suggest a dish drying rack. We had nowhere to put dishes as we washed them. We ate breakfast and reheated food several times and found that trying to stack dishes on a little towel on themselves to dry was cumbersome and hazardous to the dishes potentially falling.
Again, the good outweighs the bad as this was a great deal for the location and the room was very comfortable and clean. It really was a great stay.
This small apartment was in a good location and was as pictured. It was quiet, as it was at the back of the building. It was quite dark and gloomy in the apartment even on sunny days. The king bed was quite comfortable. The tiny bathroom could use an update. The kitchen utensils were very sparse and there was no coffee maker. For the price, I might stay in a hotel next time.
Flat comfortable & in ex area but illegally let causing issues. Some things advertised not there.
While the apartment was in a safe and interesting area of the West Village it was being let illegally by Ciro the tenant, and on my first morning when leaving the apartment I was told by some architects working for the owner of the building that I was there illegally and would have to leave. Since I’d come in late from NZ, was jet lagged and tired this was s big shock. The owner’s men wanted me to provide them with Ciro’s details as he was not returning their calls and also wanted me to let them into the apartment! Anyway to cut a long story short I was able to stay, but always felt anxious that I’d come back to find it locked against me. Ciro later said he would be leaving the apartment, presumably being evicted by his landlord. I felt bad that my staying there was the catalyst for this. The actual apartment was fine, bed was great, However, I did not have all the linen that should have been supplied, nor the Nespresso machine advertised- very disappointing as I had brought the coffee capsules with me! The lights were too dim to read comfortably and there was virtually no daylight. No sky could be seen so no idea whether it was fine or raining - coming from NZ this feels weird.
The apartment above me was rented by 2 young men who for 3 of my 10 nights had parties or loud disturbances going on until 4am through which it was impossible to sleep. When they came in late the noise from pulling out chairs or beds and loud footfalls( they wore shoes inside) woke me. When they were out my apartment was very quiet.
Overall the worst of half a dozen apartment renting experiences I have had.
Cozy in great location.
Nice small, clean apartment. Could use a coffee maker and more towels.
Great Place & Location
The place was nice and the location was great. So many things to do in New York. Ciro was very helpful. Definitely will look to rent to this place again.
While the property is not fancy, it is comfortable and nicely decorated. The lighting is a bit dim and there was no coffee maker as described in the listing. The only TV is appleTV but that worked for us. The location in the neighborhood is ideal. It is centrally located and allowed us to easily get to other parts of the city, although we really enjoyed spending time in the Chelsea neighborhood. I wish we could have checked out more of the restaurants. There are quite a few just in this square block that were tempting and all appeared to be quite popular. Easy walk to the High Line, Chelsea Market and Whitney Museum. Great restaurants and shops in the Chelsea Market as well. I would definitely recommend this location and we will plan to book again when we are back in New York.
