Foto e descrizione villa in affitto a Marmorata

3 letti, veranda, 1 bagno, 1 toilet, terrazza, giardino, discesa a mare, 2 auto

Il Monaco is a confortable two level villa with plenty of space both inside and outside.

The villa has been renovated these days and has all brand new equippements.

At the street level you have the al fresco bedroom, a small toilet with washbasin and a porch with astonish view on the bay.

The porch has an ectrified tent for the sun.

At the lower level you have two bedrooms: one double and the other twin. We can convert the twin beds in one double.

One full bathroom.

Than you have a large kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, boiler, oven, TV and, I think, all you need.

The kitchen open on the terrace with a patio equipped with barbeque, where it's great to have a front sea dinner.

Close to the kitchen there is a small living room.

All the rooms on this level are on the large sea front terrace.

Few steps down and you are in the garden solarium with lemon trees, warm water shower. That's great too.

Through a 'The Romantic Path To The Sea' you'll get the private rocky beach.

Great stay:

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at "Il Monaco for a week in October 2012.It was a great week as the end of summer it was less busy. Firstly I would like to say the booking process was seamless. Anna(the owner) was very informative with my questions was also very efficient and speedy in taking our booking. We arrived mid- afternoon and was met by "Franco" First impression was that Franco was in a rush to process the payment and move on to the next letting. I was wrong Franco speak's good english,is charming, and always available. He has a great local knowledge of the area, can organise tours all along the coat to Capri,Iscia, Salerno, Pompei, Versuvious etc. He is a fantastic asset to use whilst you are there, dont be shy to ask him for anything.

The house itself was clean, set up for our need's and is well laid out on two floor's the three bedroom's are spacious with great view's and the kitchen is functional for normal vacational use. The view's from every room are to die for and the huge patio is a great bonus. There are barbecue facilities( we never used). The walkway down to the sea is also a great novel way to get some exercise and have a dip in the crystal water.

There is also an outside shower (near the clever laundry) again with a breathtaking view.. This was a necessity for "us" as with only one bathroom and us being two couples ( our parent's who are in their seventies) it was a little time consuming getting everyone ready for the daily excursions. There is an upstairs toilet and basin for the main bedroom. In my opinion and is only a suggestion there is plenty of space to add a full second bathroom which would assist couples travelling together. Parking is great, although a little challenging to get out onto the main road, so I suggest you reverse your vehicle in. There are many great restaurant's within walking distance and a good supermarket in nearby Maori. This is an ideal spot for a great holiday and with a couple of tweak's could be magnificent. No pictures, video's or clips can ever capture standing on the patio at Il monaco at dawn or dusk with a glass of something in you hand. Go experience the amalfi coast at least once in your life.

Not quite "wonderful"

  • 3 of 5

When we arrived at the villa, it was completely bare of any essentials like a bottle of water or even a spare roll of toilet paper. I'm sure the housekeeper knew this when he let us in, but offered no assistance. We scrambled on Sunday to find a store open that sold toilet paper! The description also neglects to tell you in the details of the house that the front door opens DIRECTLY onto the street with only about an inch of space to spare between yourself and traffic, so you are taking your life in your hands every time you enter or leave the premises. And the constant ambulance sirens that do not cease all night long can be difficult to get used to. The chairs and umbrella were not placed on the beach until mid-week. We had a nice time in spite of all those drawbacks, but our good time had nothing to do with the house or the non-existent housekeeper.

Beautiful Amalfi

  • 4 of 5

Il Monaco is extremely beautiful. Every window has storybook views. The entire place is clean and comfortable and the property manager was quite helpful. I think this is an excellent central location to explore the coast. I will warn that this house is directly on the Amalfi Coast Highway. Pulling in and out of the parking spot is somewhat scary. You can also walk into town along the highway, but that can be scary as well! Oh well - that is the price you have to pay for being directly on the water. Beautiful little swimming area for the warmer months as well.

The perfect Mediterranean holiday

  • 5 of 5

Il Monaco is a treasure. Our family of seven certainly feels as though we "hit the jackpot" in choosing this lovely renovated home overlooking the Mediterranean Sea for our vacation on the Amalfi Coast.

The serene blue color used throughout the interior seamlessly blends with the sea, which can be seen through tall casement windows from every room, except the bathrooms. (I prefer the outdoor terrace shower, which has a spectacular view!) This home is meticulously maintained and has a warm atmosphere without being cluttered.

Across the entire length of the back of the home is a double terrace, which has its own arbor supporting the famous Amalfi lemon trees. The lower area houses a utility room with a washing machine and lots of hanging space. There is also a "secret garden" gate leading to a pathway along the terraces down a flight of stairs to a private concrete platform, a fun spot for swimming.

We had a car and could easily explore the other coastal towns; however, there is a bus stop just steps away.

Upon meeting the owners, Anna and her husband Oscar, I can see that their home is a reflection of their graciousness. They are very professional to work with, yet personable, so that you are made to feel like welcomed guests in their home.

This was our first visit to the Amalfi Coast and we certainly hope to return; we would definitely stay in Il Monaco.

Autumn sun in Villa Monaco

  • 5 of 5

We had an amazing week in Villa Monaco in the beginning of November. The Villa was even better we’ve thought and the property was very clean and homelike. The terrace with the morning sun and view to the Mediterranean is unforgettable. We were three people, a couple and ten years old grandchild. The villa was perfect to us three, the bedroom of the girl was comfort and nice looking. She loved it. We visited surrounding little and unique villages, also Capri and Napoli.

We enjoyed the Villa and the garden and were impressed of the care of Anna and Oscar, thank you so much. Someday we would like to come again.

Put yourself in the postcard!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, our 13 year old daughter and I just spent five incredible days at Il Monaco. Pictures cannot do it justice. It was a perfect way to enjoy the Amalfi Coast.

The villa itself is lovely, with breathtaking views from every room. It is very clean, light and airy with nice, modern bathrooms and kitchen. It has everything you need.

My husband and I chose to sleep in the bedroom located in the historic part of the house. It's the one you see with all the frescos on the walls and ceiling. Unbelievably gorgeous! We were told this part of the villa is roughly 500 years old, with the paintings being original to the house. It has a large window overlooking the sea and curving coastline. What a romantic room this is! Our daughter stayed in the room having two twin beds. The decor was light and airy, with the same sea view, except with even more windows and doors through which to see the vista. She LOVED her room. Anyone would!

The house is charming, but what makes it excellent are the location and the grounds. With two levels of patios, outdoor seating for dining, the gardens, the quaint path down to the private sunbathing platform by the sea, the lemon trees (loaded with lemons while we were there), the unbelievable views of the sea and of all the other villas and gardens around you as well as of the village of Minori over to the left, the boats of all kinds down in the water, the sight and smell of wisteria.... It's sensory heaven!

You'll probably do a ton of walking here. We made the short walk down to the village proper of Minori to eat and shop and take in the activities of the town. We happened to be there for Easter; what a special treat that was! There are many great places to eat, all within walking distance. (Our favorite restaurant was Giardinello's - fantastic!) There is a large public beach right in the center of town. We found the townspeople to be very warm and welcoming.

If you'd like a real walking adventure, you can take the stairs up the mountainside to the town of Ravello! There you will find more of a tourist hub, with lots of shops, restaurants, and more a continuation of the ancient village experience. The views both heading up and walking back down are very rewarding.

We easily drove to Pompei from Minori. Loved Pompei!

Anna, Oscar and Franco were wonderful. We truly hated to leave when it was our time to go. Grazie mille!
