It was a wonderful place to stay in Venice.
We really liked this apartment. Our greeter was great. We found him easily and he was on time. He explained everything about the apartment to us. Didn't mind the stairs at all. We loved being right off of St. Mark's Square. I arrived on my birthday and there was a bottle of wine and a thoughtful note on the table. Thank you for making my birthday special.
Great Location in Venice
Great location for everything in Venice. We arrived by plane, took the water bus and were met and taken to the appartment. Everything was clean and met our expectations. The patio was an added plus. We had a great stay here.
Will stay here again
Beautiful apartment adjacent to St Mark's square. We had seen the pictures on this listing, but we were still thrilled and flabbergasted at how perfect the location of this apartment is. With everything in Venice within walking distance, it is literally at your fingertips. We intentionally spent time on the balcony as part of our sight-seeing experience. We had no problem with the WiFi or air conditioning. Both took just a bit of time to warm up and come on. This is a 700 yr old building in Venice after all. The walk up to the 4th floor was part of the adventure, because of course, without it you can't have the balcony and the view!
Fantastic Location - Great Apartment
We had a wonderful experience in Venice driven by the convenience and central location of this apartment. Lorena was wonderful to work with and very responsive. While it's a few stairs up, that is so counterbalanced by it accessibility to St. Marks and everything else. Very quiet at night. We would stay here again in a flash. Thank you Lorena!
Centrally located, responsive host, but definitely had some issues
No question this place is centrally located and quiet. It was also very clean. Note you do have to pay additional for a cleaning fee which does not include taking out your trash. You are expected to take out your own trash and if you are leaving on the weekend, to find some place to deposit it. It seems strange to me that a cleaning service cannot remove a normal amount of trash from the apartment.
Our greeter stayed for about 30 seconds and was in a hurry to go (note you have to pay an additional 100 euro for the greeter). He didn't stay to assist with the wifi or the AC and both turned out to be big issues. We were there in July, which is super hot in Venice and the AC in the main room did not work (it did work in the bedrooms) but one of them made a big buzzing sound ever 30 mins or so, which woke up the kids. Also, the wifi did not work and we were told to "be patient" with it. After waiting a day for it, my husband was able to get it to work but instructions had not been provided. It was very stressful to be in a stifling hot apartment without wifi which I had counted on for running my business while traveling.
The stairs are not a problem if you are reasonably active but note that Venice is very hot in the summer and you will be sweating when you reach the top!
The host was reasonably responsive via email but did not send anyone over to check the AC or wifi. She did refund some of our monies, which we appreciated, but will note that this occurred only after a reminder more than 30 days after we left (in fairness, she stated there had been a family emergency).
Some of this review is correct and some is not. The rubbish/trash is not difficult - Venice has over 16/20 million visitors/year and in line with European policy, Italy is committed to recycling and our apartment is as stated on the signed contract a self-catering apartment. Both in the apartment and in the building (over 700 hundred years old) everyone is advised of when to recycle the different categories of rubbish each day. We are not an hotel and it is a courtesy to the guests following to respect same. The guests both before and after this reviewer did not have any issue with the WIFI or the airconditioning but I did agree to give a refund in respect of the latter. This complainer knew that my husband was having signt saving surgery during this period and the fact that his recently deceased mother was losing her last struggles with life during the same time meant that I did not respond as quickly as I would normally wish to in refunding a security deposit. However I must mention the fact that this complainer did not honour her committment to pay on time, that only happened just 4 days before her visit following countless emails leaving us and our attentive and well informed agent quite bewildered. I am glad that the reviewer enjoyed Venice and appreciated our central location.
Great location - 50m from St Marks Square
Great apartment for four (two couples or family), Lorena was pleasant, Denis the greeter was efficent. Irene informative. All were very quick to respond to our needs. Had a great stay, walked almost all of Venice for all the sights. Apartment had everything we needed, grocery store was 8 min walk.
