We had a very comfortable stay at Mike's cottage, it is spacious, with lots of beds/bedrooms to accommodate our group of 10 people. But do be aware of the following things before your stay (things I wish I knew before booking):
- There is no pantry/spices in the kitchen, you must bring EVERYTHING you need for cooking aside from pans/pots. Don't forget to bring cooking oil!
- You need to bring a lot of extra items that are usually included in most cottages such dish soap, hand soap, bathroom items/body wash and shampoo, etc., as well as towels, dish towels, bed sheets and pillow cases, and toilet paper. The host does let you know in advance to bring these items
- There were a few spiders in the bathtub upstairs and ladybugs all over the upstairs bedroom floor upon arrival so just be aware of bugs. This is a rural location so it's not too unexpected
- Although I booked the cottage around 2 months in advance and paid up front, the host sent me the rental agreement to complete, only after I asked for the check in details 2 days before our stay. This felt very last minute, and I felt like this should have been completed before payment was made so that I was not rushing to complete the agreement forms the day before we left for our stay.
- If you book with VBRO do not send any additional e-transfer for damage deposit (as was requested of me).
ALL of this being said, I would still recommend this cottage if you have a large group of people, it is a really nice property
