I have just returned from an amazing 2 week stay in this house. Let me just say that the house is worth booking for the view alone. I was a little sceptical that the view in the photos would be the view we got, but let me assure you it is.
We arrived after an extremely long drive, and Marzia kindly allowed us to check in early. She met us at the house and gave us a tour of the house and explained how things worked etc. She also advised us of some places to visit and eat. She was an extremely friendly young lady and spoke good english. She was also at the end of the phone for any queries we had throughout our stay.
The house.
It is situated about five minutes walk from the lake shore. There are however a number of steps to climb to reach the house and this may be difficult for some people especially in the heat. There is a small garden and a shady terrace with table and chairs where it is perfect to eat all meals. There are two deckchairs outside.
Inside is one big room with sofas and TV along with dining table and chairs. To the rear of the room is a small kitchen. And I mean small. There was only 3 of us, and I tend to cook the evening meal at the house, but we had to store a lot of the dry goods in the lounge area. Preparing meals is a challenge as there is not much work surface. However I managed.
Downstairs is a large basement with a table tennis table and a toilet, shower and washing machine.
Upstairs are 2 good sized bedrooms and the bathroom. The selling point is again the view from the master bedrooms balcony. Many a time we could be found there, the book in our lap forgotten looking at the view.
The house is situated in a quiet hamlet. There is a trattoria but we didn't use it. There is a small beach, but we tended to drive 10 minutes to Onno.
It is perfectly located for visiting the other places on the lake. We went to Belaggio, Villa Carlotta, Como, Mont San Primo, and Lecco where we took the train to Milan.
I would say that this house is suited to couples or families like ours with one teenage child where you want peace and quiet, but a base to explore.
If I had to find a negative, I would say that from renting other properties, there wasn't a a visitor manual with information in, eg rubbish collection, nearby bakeries, etc.
All in all we had a fabulous holiday here and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
