Antique furniture, meticulously restored Venetian style polychrome stucco work and traditional Venetian flooring are among the features of this spacious apartment which recreate the atmosphere of seventeen century Venice but with contemporary comfort.

This apartment, of approx. 200 sq. metres extends over the first floor (piano nobile) of a 16th century house on the canal Rio S. Marina, a few steps from the church of SS Giovanni and Paolo. The 7 beds of the three bedrooms are complemented by a 2-seater sofa bed and a sofa bed, for a total of 10 beds.

Castello 6213 offers all the comforts and services: bedding, linen, towels, glassware, crockery and kitchen utensils are provided. The apartment is equipped with laundry and dish washing machines, satellite TV and wireless internet. There is independent access to the apartment.

Castello 6213 is situated in the centre of historic Venice, strategically located between Rialto and San Marco/San Zacharia. The proximity of Rialto makes it convenient for the railway station, Piazalle Roma and Tronchetto; and from the nearby Fondamenta Nove, the Airport, Murano, Burano and Torcello can be easily reached. From San Marco/San Zacharia boats go to Lido, S.Giorgio, S.Servolo and Giudecca . Three vaporetto stops: Rialto, Fondamenta Nove and San Zaccaria are easily reached on foot within 10 minutes.

Although centrally positioned, Castello 6213 is in a quiet street away from the popular tourist routes.

Convenient and spacious apartment within close walking distance to everything.

As a party of 9, we just returned from 2 nights at Castello 6213. We took a water taxi directly from the Marco Polo Airport to the Ponte Minich canal location. This trip took less than 30 minutes and was super convenient. The agent met us there and directed us about 20 meters to the apartment door. There is a main entry door that leads to a staircase up to another entry door in which is found a large and spacious living area (no one slept in here) with four bedrooms coming off of this. One bedroom had a king, two other bedrooms had three "twins" each, and the last bedroom was small with a single twin bed. There were 3 bathrooms with showers/shower bath combos. One bathroom smelled rather foul and we were told that the canal was the explanation (even though the canal didn't smell bad). The kitchen area is medium sized but we did very little cooking besides breakfast. Overall, the apartment speaks of the grandeur of the glory days of Venice with tall ceilings and authentic chandeliers, and is quite practical, but not ornate by any means.

This apartment was perfectly acceptable, short of amazing, but a great find. Biggest drawbacks would be:

1) the noise form the canal that starts at about 5AM as workers unload pallets of drinks/goods from boats onto carts to haul from the canals to the stores.

2) the smell of the bathroom nearest the entry door (apparently due to the canal but none of the other bathrooms smell like this and it was the furthest from the canal)

The location of the apartment was great for getting to/from there and the airport. It was also a great location to get around the main island of Venice requiring only 10-15 minutes walking.

We did fall for the free taxi ride to Murano island to see the glass blowing. The taxi ride was free and riding in the taxi boats is a lot of fun. Once we were in Murano we saw a brief glass blowing demonstration that was very interesting. Once we explained we didn't want to buy anything we were left on our own to catch the Vaporetto back to the main island, despite being told we'd have a taxi both ways. Totally worth the trip to Murano but not round trip taxi service as advertised.

All of the water taxis were "booked" the day of departure and we ended up taking the Vaporetto to the airport. With a party of 9 its a 15 minute luggage hike to the stop. The water taxi is way more convenient and only marginally more expensive.

I would stay here again if I feel a need to see Venice for a 3rd time

A spacious flat with a really helpful manager. But a few downsides

A great apartment, with all of the necessities with the exception of air conditioning. The managers daughter was at the landing when our taxi arrived, so getting in and becoming acquainted were quite easy. As noted the lack of air conditioning in the summer months is a bit of a drawback, as you need to leave windows open to keep air circulating. Since the flat is right on the canal at a loading area for deliveries to local restaurants and stores, the supply barges started arriving around 6 or earlier. (I have photos) Additionally, they are currently renovating the first floor, so if you did get back to sleep after the delivery, the jackhammers will have you awake at 7. If you are a light sleeper and want to sleep in, this isn't the best place. Other than this we would recommend this flat.

Lovely apartment in central venice

What a beautiful CLEAN apartment that is close many restaurants, gelato shops ,fresh fruit and vegetable stands. My son spent so much time looking out the window watching the boats and gondolas go by. The apartment is well stocked with every need including coffee, sugar, basic spices, olive oil and viniger. About a 7 minute walk to st marco square and the grand canal

If I will do it over we would

Take a private water taxi to the Ponte Minich stop. About a 45 second walk to the apartment. We took the public water bus and had to walk about 20 minutes from the closest stop pulling luggage up and down quite few bridges and it was NO FUN!!! If you take a private taxi it was 80 euros total and the public boat was 15 euros each. We were a group of 7 so cheaper and zero stress.

Know that for Google maps punch in" calle trevisana o cicogna" 6213.

Very hot in June even with the many provided fans for the apartment.

Great vacation-- Will stay longer if I ever get back

bienvenue au château

Cet appartement est un lieu parfait pour venir passer quelques jours à Venise avec des amis ou en famille dans une ambiance hors du temps. La décoration est très agréable de sobriété et de beaux meubles, les sols en terrazzo typiques, la composition même de l'appartement est traditionnelle et tout cela confère au lieu une atmosphère dépaysante et apaisante. L'appartement est parfaitement entretenu, l'accueil n'a pas été fait par Rossana mais par une personne très agréable qui nous a très bien expliqué son utilisation. Il y a 3 grandes chambres, 2 salles de bains et 1 salle d'eau ce qui permet une certaine indépendance. Nous avons trouvé tout le matériel nécessaire dans la cuisine qui est parfaitement équipée. Je recommande vivement ce lieu pour son charme et son emplacement.

Disappointing

This apartment is, indeed, spacious. However, I do not consider it to be comfortable. The furniture was all very hard. The bathrooms were less than adequate. There were not enough towels provided. Most importantly, the owner should absolutely provide a map to find it! We dragged our luggage around for more than half an hour before finally stumbling upon it. When we inquired of locals as to where it was located, we got the response to turn in the first "gallery". Gallery?? What the heck were they referring to? Apparently, they meant the first little "street", or alleyway. Totally frustrating. Venice is charming, but not for the less-abled such as myself. The constant bridges to be crossed over all the small side canals were extremely difficult, as each bridge consisted of going up six or seven steps, then down the steps on the other side. I was exhausted! Not this property owner's fault -- just my comment on Venice in general.

Great place to stay

Family of 6 with 4 teenagers for 3 nights. Plenty of space, very clean, good beds and linens, kitchen had everything necessary. Centrally located with everything very close by. The property was located right on a canal, so you could lean out the window and get a great view and pictures. In fact you can take a boat right to the apartment! However, be aware that it's like being on a road- boats go down the canal all night and there can be loud people. We had some serious noise that kept us up late for one of the nights we were there.

The Sestiere of Castello is the largest and most populous of all of Venice. It is located at the eastern end of the city and comparing Venice to a fish Castello represents the tail.

Even the sestiere of Castello, like that of San Marco, has a history that began several centuries ago. It derives its name from a fort this island of San Pietro in Castello (once called the island of Olivolo).

The sestiere is rich in history and monuments to admire, some examples are given from the Arsenale and the Basilica of San Pietro di Castello. Also inside are the main pavilions of the Venice Biennale.
