Great property! Beautiful views! Clean home and friendly owners! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting northern New Mexico!
Aric and his family were wonderful guests, very friendly and respectful. The family with two young children left the house looking like only one person was here! Please come again.
Feeding the Soul
This property is more than adequate in everyway....bed was very comfortable , kitchen great to cook in , porch with view of northern new mexico landscape extraordinary, all design of house life giving. ,lovely quiet stillness. Thank you for offering this special haven.
Barbara, thank you for staying with us. As a guest, you and yours were wonderful. Because our plan to have this as a retirement home needed to change, we are happy to know that others (including ourselves) can experience all that our La Lomita has to offer. We hope you keep us in mind for your future travel plans. Carl and Gretchen Valdez
I loved every moment in this lovely peaceful house. The setting could not have been better. The house has everything one could need. I hope I can stay here again one day.
Peaceful desert getaway
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Valdez’ home. Had everything we needed plus the added pleasure of watching hummingbirds come and go. It’s very convenient to Española. Carl and Gretchen’s directions and restaurant, etc. were spot-on.
Sheila, thank you for your evaluation. We are always appreciative of our guests taking time to do so. We love hosting, and, in fact, need to because by your using our home for whatever time you do, you are taking care of it in our absence. The neighbors love it, because the house is not vacant, and they know we have dependable guests. Be safe in all your travels, and please consider returning. Sincerely, Carl and Gretchen
Well-stocked, clean home in peaceful location, but a bit too warm for August
The house was extremely clean and very organized. It was better-stocked than any other VRBO property I have rented. There were ample towels and bedding, as well as pantry basics. The kitchen had every appliance and pot or pan we could think of (although no pitcher for water). The area surrounding the house was very peaceful. Its remoteness allowed for wonderful star-gazing on clear nights.
Although the house has thick walls and we followed recommended procedures to shut the windows and blinds during the day and open them in the evening, the house was uncomfortably hot a few days. Without air conditioning, we felt that we had to leave the house everyday in the morning and come back only after dinner time. Although there were hiking opportunities just outside the door, because of the inability to cool down after a hike, we weren't inclined to take advantage of the neighbourhood.
Robyn, thank you for your review. All was quite fair. Weather has been a bit more unpredictable, so therefore, we need to respond to that. This summer has had its unusually hot days, so we will look into the possibilities for making the house more comfortable in the future. Thank you for your visit. Carl and Gretchen Valdez
Beautiful, clean, peaceful
We had a lovely time visiting with friends here! The home and the property are beautiful. The porch is the perfect place to sit, relax and take in the picturesque landscape. The weather wasn’t great while we were there but it didn’t ruin our stay. We really enjoyed spending time on the porch watching the storms roll in over the mountains. We will definitely be back!
