The Villa Principessa was amazing! Location, amenities, staff were all incredible. The villa itself has a long family history and is very well maintained. The villa is 4 stories, with the second floor (living room/foyer) at street level. First floor contains kitchen, full bath, and exit to the multiple terraces connected by stairs leading to the shared sea platform. The terrace outside the kitchen level has a large dining table and made for a great family dinner! The third story contains two bedrooms and 2 full baths. The fourth level has a bedroom, bathroom, and a small lanai with incredible views. The sea platform, located about 100 stairs down from the kitchen, is wonderful for swimming and sunbathing, with a fresh water shower just a few steps up. The shared pool is across the street and up about 50 stairs. It is absolutely beautiful, with amazing views and places to lounge beneath the lemon trees. Villa kitchen is well apportioned with medium-sized refrigertor/freezer, gas range, microwave, coffee maker, and dishwasher. There is a small clothes washer in the bath near kitchen and a clothes dryer outside near dining terrace. Parking is available just a few steps from the villa. Minori is the closest town and wonderful for shopping and dinners. Ravello is about 1000 steps up (or a short drive) from the Villa and is definitely worth visiting! We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more and didn't want our time to end. Franco, the villa manager, was very friendly and helpful. We arrived to a large basket of fruit, wine, and snacks! Given the layout of the villa, sea platform, and pool, there are many steep stairs to climb, so consider before renting. We would recommend this villa to anyone who wants a magical time on the Amalfi coast!
LOVE the town, the house and the people
First of all, save yourself the hassle and expense of staying in Amalfi or Positano and consider Minori. For a €3 ferry ride that takes about 5-10min you can be in Amalfi. A taxi would take about 10min as well. There are lovely restaurants in Minori, including a delicious bakery!
Secondly. The house. Villa Principessa is a simple 7min walk to Minori, easy to get to the grocery, restaurants and ferry. It’s also even more gorgeous than the pictures! This house is clean, well appointed and just perfection. It’s on 4 levels so there are lots of stairs, but with that comes plenty of privacy for large parties. The attic suite felt more like a honeymoon suite than an attic. It was cool during our stay so no need for AC, but there is a newly added AC unit in the attic - so ignore reviews that say it is too hot.
Access to the ocean was wonderful and the terrace was gorgeous. The pool was a nice treat, and just a short 1-2min walk from the house - basically across the street.
There were snacks, a bottle of wine, espresso to greet us. Vincenzo was responsive and flexible to work with.
Nothing but wonderful things to say about this house, the people and the town!
Que bella! Perfect experience.
Our family of five enjoyed every minute of our stay at La Princepessa. The home was so clean and beautiful and the views are breathtaking! The home had four levels with a private bungalow on top. Our 12-year-old son enjoyed having his own space and veranda at the top.
Our girls shared a room with twin beds and the master was beautifully painted. The beds were all very comfortable, too. Every room had its own bathroom.
The kitchen was so fun to cook in - very light and airy. Of course, beautiful views as well.
Franco and Lucia were there for any need and were both delightful. Lucia said that the residence has been in the same family since it was built in the late 17th century. Vincenzo was very helpful, as well. He went out of his way.
The veranda was fragrant with lemons and spacious! We walked down to the Mediterranean several times. That was special.
The pool is across the street and up a short path. Very peaceful with gorgeous views.
We walked to the town of Minori daily (multiple times a day even) and we’re always greeted with genuine warmth. The food was authentic and so delicious. There is also a beach there. We loved it in Minori - not touristy. A real taste of local living.
La Princepessa and Minori were a magical experience and one that will remain very special to us.
I cannot say enough about La Princepessa and the service we received. We would go back in a heartbeat. Lovely views and memories.
Gourgeous Villa, full of charme
Villa Principessa is gorgeous, full of charme and has amazing sea views.
The friendly staff is more than helpful.
One of the reasons I chose Villa Principessa, for my vacation on the Amalfi Coast, is because it has both a pool and a direct access to the sea, not easy to find. Enjoy!
We had a lovely week at Villa Principessa and can only echo other reviews.
The view from the villa is breathtaking, terrace is a wonderful place to waste a day, you can walk down to the sea or up to the swimming pool, Rooms are great. There are air conditioning units in every room which we preferred not to use during the day to catch the sea breeze, but did use at night and they were very quiet and worked very well. We strongly recommend the location, the villa and the friendly and attentive management.
What an amazing villa all so grand and Italian splendour. The Amalfivacation people were excellent to deal with (Vincenzo and Franco ) and the villa is much better and bigger than I expected. Great location and great views from the villa. And having access to the swimming platform and the gorgeous infinity pool was great. Vincenzo was able also to arrange for some Italian ladies to come in and cook for us and they prepared the most amazing dinner for us!
Villa Principessa is located in one of the most scenic and picturesque areas of the Amalfi Coast: Marmorata, the area of Ravello closest to sea, near to the charming village of Minori. The location is strategic: infact, even if it's in the areas of Ravello, Amalfi town is at only 1.5 miles/2.4 km far (about 7-8 minutes by car or bus; the bus stop is at few meters from the complex): Amalfi is the most important town along the coast also in terms of public transportation system. But Ferry lines for Capri, Amalfi, and Positano also depart from the charming village of Minori, which is just a short walk from the villa (10 minutes) or 2 minutes by bus, car or taxi. Minori features sand beaches, shops, grocery stores, excellent restaurants and one of the best and world's most famous pastry shops "Sal De Riso".
Our Villa is a perfect base to visit all the towns along the Amalfi Coast, and also other towns such as Pompeii and Hercolaneum.
