Perfect Fire Island Getaway

We had an amazing time here! The place itself was perfect for our group. Plenty of beds (very comfortable too!). Well appointed, steps from the beach..couldn't have asked for more! Glad to have both this and the top portion of the house to fit our large group and give us plenty of space to spread out and relax :)

Great spot for a large group of people

This house was perfect for what we needed. 12 of us stayed comfortably. Plenty of beds. It was walking distance to where we needed to be. When we arrived the beds were unmade and we had a hard time finding the sheets and pillow cases. I contacted Vacasa and they got back to me quickly. I found the doors hard to lock at times and when we arrived the back door was wide open. There was only a couple of garbage bags and minimal paper towels. Overall, great spot and would stay again! Thank you

Dirt and dangerous

This property was dirty, the furniture was broken. I got cut on a piece of furniture that was broken, the curtain rod fell down and hit my 5 year old, the walls were so dirty, holes in the walls, and the door handle was missing from the bathroom. We called to try and get a manager and they sent the cleaning lady, still have not heard from anyone

Lovely Home in Ocean Bay Park

Unfortunately, the house was not as clean as it should have been. We found cigarette butts on the deck. We had a broken bathroom door handle, a broken toilet seat, and a broken door hinge sticking out so that someone might hurt themselves. In one of the bedrooms, there were no window screens, so we had to keep the windows closed all the time. I specifically asked if there would be enough cooking and eating utensils for the 12 people I booked for and was told: "yes - definitely." There were only four coffee cups, five knives, and five forks!! I had to go out and buy utensils. No working toaster nor microwave, and the circuits kept going off. Our biggest complaint is that we expected the whole 2256 sq foot property as stated in the VRBO ad and photos. Unfortunately, they split the listing with another company, and the top floor was rented out to another family unbeknownst to us. We had requested and expected the whole property in November and were told in May that the top floor was booked. Why VRBO did not offer it to us when we inquired about the WHOLE property in November is beyond me. They kept saying they had no idea. The people upstairs also had a hot tub, and all six people got in the tub, and it flooded our deck, belongings, and clothes and sprayed down on us. I had to run up the stairs and politely ask them to stop! It was impossible to be in the hot tub at the same time as them with all the water coming down. When I asked the manager to go over all the issues, she said she could not talk as she was very busy. She said she had enough information from what I had told and shown the housekeeper. I felt very dissatisfied with her effort to help us out. In all the years I have been renting through VRBO, this is the only time I have had problems and such haphazard, careless customer service. Having said all that, the house is beautiful, if kept cleaner, and has a beautiful view. My group had a wonderful time there and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Great memories. If you would like, I have photos of all the broken parts!
