I was born in Rome and I grew up in this neighbourhood, Casal Palocco. My school was here, and that's where many of my present friends come from!
My father had to move the family to Milan for working reasons in the mid Seventies, so I attended University in Milan and eventually built a family there.
I have been working in Business travel since 1990, but in the last years I have also specialized in teaching Italian to Expats, i.e. foreign staff for multinational companies. This job keeps me in contact with families from all over the world moving to Italy for work.
I have four children: the eldest is a doctor, is married and lives near Milan. My triplets (3 girls) will soon go to University.I am a very proud mother, just like the famous Roman noblewoman Cornelia who said her most precious jewels were her children!

Here are my best memories, and after spending 40 years in Northern Italy, I decided to come back home... My job in Tourism, Tour Leader, has taken me around the world for more than 20 years. That is why I thought this may be the right time to settle down, where friends are, in the city I always loved, and start a new activity which allows me to stay home while working and taking good care of my guests....
I spent almost two years looking for the right house for me and my projects. Something funny happened on my first visit here: the owner recognized me, (she is a relative of a dear friend of mine) . The house immediately caught my attention for the open spaces both indoor and outdoor, and for the vegetation all around, also it is so quiet and private...but close by I can reach the sea and several lovely places by car or bike, and Rome is just a train ride away!
I am still working to make this house what I imagine it to be, first of all I put grass instead of pavement in the front garden, and I am creating a pleasant patio in the front garden as well as in the back one. Soon I hope to be able to have a swimming pool, too. In the meanwhile, I enjoy waking up to the chirping of the birds instead of the honking of the cars...
ciao ciao ...buona vita!
Merci Sabina! Famille Lefebvre
I stayed for 9 days in Sabinas apartment with my wife and 4 kids. The stay was a real pleasure since the apartment hold everything that the owners promise, and is as good (or even better) that it looks in the pictures. As the apartment belongs to the lower floor of the house, this actually plays out to the advantage of the guests, as it is chilly, which is appreciable, when it is hot outside. Only annoying thing is the amount of mosquitos..but there is a net in the entrance door which manages to keep out most of them.
Sabina is a warm and friendly person and she helped us a lot with info on how to get around and takes a genuine interest in the well being of her guests. This is a very important extra reason for why I would recommend others to rent this place! The place has a nice little garden outside with a table partially in the shadow (depending on the time of day) which is just perfect.
So do rent this place - you get a lot of value for the price :-)
Bonus info on transport in the area: Public transport from proximity to the house via bus line 64 (monday to saturday - use Roma bus app (or even google map)) can be done, but as the owner says it is much preferable to rent a car (buses only goes 1 or 2 times per hour and occasionally they can be 20-30 minutes delayed, although they are normally on time). The roads for going to the beach and metro are not pedestrian friendly, so it is not practically possible to walk from the house to beach or metro (some parts of the roads towards the beach or ostia antica are without sidewalks and the cars go fast).
I was lucky enough to find this little hidden gem on the home away website for our honeymoon. Since this was our first time visiting Italy Sabina, the owner, was really great and provided us with awesome tips on restaurants, places to visit, where we can buy clothing etc... We wanted the real Italian experience and not the tourist experience so we really appreciated all the little tips she gave us while we stayed there. As far as the property goes, it was completely remodeled and everything worked great. I loved the fact that our rental car was able to stay safely inside the property. Also it was very convenient to be able to drive to the beach and ride the train to Rome. Overall we really enjoyed our stay in this property and we already have recommended it to several of our friends that plan on visiting the same areas that we did.
The property lies in a green and peaceful residential area between Rome and the seaside, with the town of Ostia Lido close by. Leonardo Da Vinci's Airport is 10 minutes by car from the house, and so is the enchanting archaeological area of Ostia Antica, the ancient port of Rome.
Beautiful sand beaches are just a few minuts' drive.
Leonardo Da Vinci's Airport (Fiumicino) is 15 min by car, Termini railway station is 30/40 min by car, Civitavecchia Port is 1 hr by car.
Car hire is recommended, but we include in our fees one return trip per day to the train station to get to Rome Centre (ca. 20 min)
Ostia Lido 4 kms
Osta Antica 3 kms
Colosseo 26 km
Viterbo 106 kms
Isole Pontine 138 kms
Terme di Saturnia 160 km
Orvieto 153 kms
Everybody knows Rome...
you may visit my city so many times and never see the same attractions.
First time travellers will follow the 'must.see' paths, but I can suggest many alternative itineraries, depending on your personal interests. Catacombs, unique and little known museums, Cinecittà, and enchanting night tours through the Roman Ghetto or the Isola Tiberina... Precious advices by a renowned local guide will help you find YOUR special Rome.
Right close to our house we have Ostia Antica, a beautiful city of ruins, testimony of the ancient Roman life, a small Pompei, with houses, theaters, streets, shops, in the middle of a green 'pineta'.
Not to forget that both on the coast and in the country we have amazing little villages or ancient monumental villas or beautiful spa resorts where you can really forget the hustle bustle of the great city and lose yourself in relax...
Last but not least, food. With the right directions you will be able to taste the very best, without necessarily pay a fortune, be it a nice trattoria in town, or a lively fish restaurant by the sea. Moreover, we can take you for a day out in close-by Umbria for a day of full immersion in a rural'casale' where a brilliant Italian lady cook will make you prepare (and enjoy) some delicious traditional dishes.
Sailing, windsurfing, horse riding, cycling, and hiking are other optional activities available in the area.
The only problem is, with so much to see and do, you will have to come back here soon !
