This apartment was perfect for our family. We arrived and dropped off our luggage, had a tour of the apt and everything was exactly as described. The layout was ideal with a bedroom, kitchen area and 2 bathrooms on the 1st floor and 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on the 2nd floor; both cozy and spacious. The location was perfect: Carnegie Hall, Rockefeller Center, shops and food spots all in walking distance.
Jada was extremely communicative and attentive: had a leaky faucet replaced while we were out. We would reccommend this cute spot and will hopefully will be back again.
Thanks and happy holidays!
Thank you Kimberly!! Best wishes please come back:) Thank you.
The location is directly above a fish market, which is not disclosed. There is an unpleasant odor from below. The furniture is broken and useless. The TV doesn't work properly. Overall, a huge disappointment for the cost.
Spacious and Comfortable!
This apartment is a gem in the city. Not only is it in an ideal, clean location for sightseeing, it also has 4 beds and 4 bathrooms, which is unheard of! This was a great combination for my group of 6 people who were keen on seeing the city for the first time.
The owner was in touch with me over a week prior to ensure my questions were answered and was in constant communication with me throughout the stay. I had an issue with activating the heater and she walked me through it on FaceTime to ensure we didn't freeze! The kitchen is nicely stocked with the basics as listed on the site. The only thing missing was paper towels/napkins.
The location also included a Dunkin Donuts, 2 pizza spots & a TJ Maxx around the corner, with a small convenient store and a wine/liquor store right downstairs. Perfect for a quick bite or essential. We could easily walk to 5th avenue, Central Park, St Patricks Cathedral, Rockefeller Center & Time Square in one day!
Will be sure to stay here again with a group!
Would have been perfect.....
The size of the apartment, number of bathrooms and bedrooms and over-all layout were perfect for a group of 6 adult women needing their own space. The owner allowed us to drop our luggage early in the day which was perfect. Check-in was easy and smooth. We left our bags and went traveling around NYC for the day and arrived to the apartment that night to the chirping of a smoke detector on a vaulted ceiling. None of us could sleep through the chirping so I called the emergency number provided for the owner only to be told the number was DISCONNECTED. I texted and called the cleaning lady I had met when we dropped off our bags earlier in the day but the only "help" she was able to give me was to tell me to take the battery out of the smoke detector. The smoke detector is mounted on a 15 foot high vaulted ceiling with no ladder or safe way to reach it. We "managed" to take the battery out of the detector, but the chirping continued. We then ran to the corner store to buy a replacement battery and after managing to install the new battery, the chirping stopped. Crisis avoided. Until we returned to the apartment the following night after a full day again, to chirping..... no luck getting help from the cleaning lady or a response to messages to the owner through the VRBO app, so we googled possible remedies to the continuing chirping. Once again, one of us had to risk life and limb to climb back up to the 15 foot high ceiling to disconnect the hard-wiring to the smoke detector. At 11 at night with no tools. The next morning, I finally received a call from the owner to tell me a maintenance person would be arriving to take a look at the detector. Problem solved and we had 1 night of peaceful rest. I doubt this problem will occur in the future - however, the inability to communicate with the owner during the "crisis" was not acceptable.
Wonderful apt and good location. Lots of room, sleeping options, baths to accommodate 3 generations of family members (5 adult and one 11yo). The beds, queens included, should only comfortably accommodate one person, though. The problem arose post-stay when we were FALSELY accused by the owner of several misdeeds: breaking into her private area, prying her laundry machine open with a knife (!), and changing machine controls! Granted, I failed to remove our bundled trash because I didn't know where to take it and she did not respond to an email query about it, so we left it tied and bundled on her patio. She said the trash required extra time, so we paid the extra cleaning fee. We have rented thru VRBO before and I previously and successfully rented our own property thru VRBO. We know how the rental system works and how much good faith is required in the exchange. All of us are diligent and conscientious, and do not appreciate the horrible accusations this owner has made. Beware, is all I can say."
Hi Deborah, you’ve paid us extra cleaning fees because you agreed that you broke into our private areas to use our items that were off limit to you. No where in our listing does it say guests have access to laundry services. As a result, we were left with damaged doors from you or guests prying in our locked areas, you left your garbage behind on a Sunday (in checkin details we send trash disposal instructions), and lastly you delayed our cleaning for next arriving guests. I ask myself that you did not know what was behind those locked doors, so the fact that you figured a way to open them when they are clearly locked was bewildering. There were photos showing the damage to the door you made which I sent over to you and you agreed which is why you paid the extra fees requested. You also used items that were off limits to you. I always lock my private area doors myself and when we arrived for your checkout both our private doors were open on both floors. We send all guests checkin info and guidelines so they can read on how to dispose trash, WiFi instructions, how to checkout etc but in order to understand them guests need to read. Granted you left on a Sunday with the next day being a holiday, I didn’t get a message from your garbage question in our listing message board on-time, however, you already had all the info you needed. You had to take some time to read it.
In bold we have trash instructions clearly written so this was negligence. We want our customers always happy but in this case you broke into our private areas, changed settings of our machines and delayed cleaning staff, left a large bag of garbage which we had to take to a facility because we can't throw away garbage on the streets on a Sunday. Deborah, sorry but this was totally unacceptable manners/behaviors.
We really enjoyed the indoor and outdoor space. It worked very well for our group- 8 women!
Thank You Dawn!! We will always welcome you back!
Il quartiere è come un nostalgico film di Wood Allen.
