Vedi i delfini ogni viaggio in barca. Great Couples Retreat...Peaceful and Relaxing...Sparkling Clean
My wife and I got away to the Georgia coast to explore the beautiful, natural area of Georgia’s best kept secret. We rode our bicycles from the property all through the Harris Wildlife refuge area through the live oak trees with Spanish moss flowing in the breeze above. The accommodations were brand new, including granite, tiled shower, appliances, etc. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed our morning coffe on the shared screened porch and the adjoining unit was not rented. Nice rope swing on property under the Spanish moss was amazing to swing in under the moon lit sky. Enjoyed a nice drive into Darien for dinner at Skipper’s Fish Camp along the waterfront. Owner, Ren, was an exceptional, friendly host and extremely easy to contact. We would highly recommend this property!
Another great stay !
Great stay at Harris Neck !
A History Buff, Bird Lover, Fisherman, Outdoorsman or Star Gazers Dream
Visit Georgia’s Colonial Coast! Very well maintained and appointed property perfect for couples or alone. Well out of the way in costal McIntosh county for peace and solitude but still close to I95, Savannah and Jacksonville, Florida.
One has to experience the night sky and the stars in this area of Georgia on clear nights. Located far enough from Savannah and Brunswick there is no artificial light present in the sky. Only an endless display of the most vivid night sky around.
This property is located near some of the last unspoiled coastal areas on the East Coast. This area is rich in history, some of it a little unique. Borders Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge for wildlife viewing, bird watching or hiking and exploring. Fishing pier nearby and a public boat ramps is less than 1mile from the front door which will lead you to great inshore saltwater fishing or exploring. Take a boat ride and visit Blackbeard Island NWR, an almost virgin barrier island virtually unspoiled by human hands. Visit Darien, and take the ferry to Sapelo Island and tour historic Hog Hammock and the R.J. Reynolds Mansion. Maybe just take a short car ride and visit Shellman Bluff, a quaint costal fishing village steeped in time. There you can indulge in some local fresh seafood. The local oysters have a reputation as being some of the best to be found on the southeast coast.
Come stay in an area that was once the hub of Georgia prosperity during colonial times and early America through the Civil War. The land this home sits on was once part of the Peru Plantation, named for the richness of the soil, and one of the most prosperous Sea Island cotton plantations in the south. On your drive out to Harris Neck you will pass multiple prior plantation sites that have disappeared in time forever. It’s almost impossible to imagine that almost all the forest you drive by once leaving the interstate were agricultural fields at one time.
I have spent a lot of time in this area over the last 25 years and it still beckons me to return again and again. The area is a very special and unique area of our county. So come and visit…you’re sure to fall in love!
Wow ! I'm flattered for the mention of our place, but I am even more heartened when I hear about the love others have for this special piece of the world. The unspoiled GA coast is truly one of a kind......impressive nature, and wonderful old history lessons around every bend. Thank you for the words. You made MY day, just hearing someone else who is passionate about this special area. :)
