Can’t beat the view!
We rented this home so that my elderly parents could sit and enjoy watching the ocean. They absolutely LOVED the views sitting out on the balcony overlooking the surf and sand.
My only disappointment was that there was no television, which I did not realize until it was mentioned in the final instructions. Besides watching the surf, my parents love to watch sports on TV and had trouble seeing the screen on my laptop. The description of the rental should include “no television “ in the amenities listing.

Most guests stream on their laptops now, and I offer high speed wireless for that purpose.
Pretty apartment/great views
The apartment was as advertised. It is a lovely apartment with nice furniture and everything needed to spend a few days of relaxation on the beach. Gloria is responsive and sweet. There are direct ocean views from the living room, kitchen and master bedroom. Both bedrooms are a good size. There were thick bath towels and the master bed (the only one we used) was quite comfortable. If you leave the windows open, you can hear the beautiful sound of the ocean. The small deck off the kitchen also has direct ocean views and my husband and I sat on the rocking chairs to watch the churning of the ocean waves while having a glass of wine. We would definitely stay at this property again.

Great ocean view
There were pros and cons at this location. The owner emphasizes that she wants guests to have a 5 star experience. As advertised, the beds and linens were top notch along with the view.
However, there were a number of things that I found to be lacking. Only 1 bedroom and bath had a trash can (which is rusted and old); nothing in the other. Toilet paper was thin & scratchy. No dringking cups in bathrooms. Silverware was tarnished silverplate. NO TV. Only 2 chairs at the dining table.The oven was filthy. But the worst thing was sitting at the table looking at a huge chunk of peeling paint ready to fall off. PAY ATTENTION to the many rules and regulations. This is an older residential building. She doesn't want you to dirty the towels, bring sand in or use the pool, or talk to people.
When I emailed the owner to say I was disapointed and feeling it was not 5 star to me, her response was that if I moved to a hotel down the streer she'd refund my money for that night. At that point it was our last night, we had food in the fridge and it was not worth the aggravation of moving. Also, her response was basically this is her home and she likes it this way. If she had even offered a token refund, I probably wouldn't be writing this.
I don't like to write negative reviews, but in this situation I thoght others should have a clear idea of what they were getting.
Sometimes a listing is just not a good fit, and I am always so sorry when that happens.
I am a frequent traveler who loves staying in a new place at the neighborhood level. Which is why I not only offer my home to like-minded travelers, but make it my mission to provide my guests the same five-star touches that I look for when I travel: lodging located in a gorgeous neighborhood, safety, cleanliness, upscale linens and towels, comfortable mattresses and high-speed Internet.
It is also why I try hard to describe my home accurately, as I don’t like surprises when I travel. And indeed, it’s why I communicate with guests before their stay, and check in with them during their stay to make sure that all is well.
Based on my previous reviews, and that I’ve achieved PremierStatus with VRBO (they’ve recognized me as a host who is committed to fast response times, has the best rates, and provides a great guest experience), I believe I succeed in my mission most times.
Still, I prefer that every guest walk out of my home happy, so I will keep trying to please as many as I can. That’s not just good business, it’s the kind thing to do.
To respond to the guest's comments:
a. Since we live here, our home is fitted to our tastes: we prefer antique touches where it doesn’t concern comfort; we, of course, like the brand of toilet paper we use; and we don’t clutter our living space with unnecessary items
b. My listing states the amenities provided and the conditions of the rental. Although it would be better for business, I don’t utilize VRBO’s Instant Book feature. I like to double and triple check that my guests are comfortable with the conditions before they make a reservation, to avoid unhappy situations like this
c. We provide upscale bath towels, so we prefer that guests take our beach towels to the beach instead of the bath towels
d. I send an email the day after arrival to make sure all is well. In this case, the guest didn’t respond until the end of her stay. Still, I offered to refund her the night so that she could move to accommodations that might be more suitable to her tastes. I also researched and sent her some options
Beautiful and Serene
It was hard to imagine but the home was Even better in person. The ocean view from every room. The terrace. The thoughtful artistic decor. Everything made me smile. Gloria was wonderful to communicate with. The home was so Comfortable. I want to stay there again and again.

Apt was great, convenient to all places, very clean, loved the decor. View of ocean, surfers, and dolphins from windows and balcony was amazing.
