This apartment is a great place to stay in Bologna. It's location could not be better for being within walking distance to the major sights in this wonderful and vibrant city. It is clean, efficient and designed with the traveler in mind.
It has plenty of room for two people with a well-equipped and up to date kitchen and bath. We frequented the wonderful fresh food stands and eateries just downstairs and around the corner. We bought fresh croissants every morning and drank wonderful coffee from the from the espresso machine provided.
We went back to the apartment several times during the day to drop off packages or just take a break. It always seemed to be just around the corner. Since we returned home, we have thought of how great this apartment was and thought it was one of the best places to have stayed. We would highly recommend it.
If you are looking for a nice furnished apartment in the old city- center of Bologna and you'll love the real 'italian eperience' to live for some days 'as the native Bolognese people' - and italian food is your favorite - this is your apartment!! We lived there for one week (2 adults) and we are still full of wonderful impressions: the location of the apartment is really!! in the old town center, some steps from the famous Piazza Maggiore and within the 'Quadrilatero' area, so you have all this wonderful food around you. Restaurants and special shops for bread, fish, meat and whatever you like. The apartment is right above the famous ditta Tamburini with mouthwatering food to buy, lunch and wine-bar. Just around the corner you will find another famous shop 'Atti' with the best bread and handmade tortellini in town. Also you will find 'normal' supermarkets for your needs. The apartment has 40 squaremeter, aircondition/heating, just 1 studio with a huge wardrobe (thanks for enough hangers),double-bed with comfortable mattrasses, 1 sofabed (same room) for 2 more peope and a separate room for the kitchen, fully equipped, ready for cooking and a small, but really new and nice bathroom with separate toilet. We placed the folding-table within the main room, so we had a wonderful place to eat at the open windows with all the 'italian-sound' noises from the street. If you need a real silent apartment, this might not be right apartment for you....in the evening there are noises from the restaurants on the street...but don't worry, usually after midnight it will getting quiet. But in return you have a really italian feeling in the middle of gorgeous Bologna, all highlights footsteps away. As Bologna is a main train station in Italy you could reach all the wonderful cities as Ravenna (famous mosaics), Ferrara (old town center, restaurant 'quel fantastico giovedi' with top-quality, reasonable food ), Modena (ferrari-museum, don't miss the lunch at Aldina, via albinelli 40, local slow food, family style). In Bologna don't miss Patrizias ristorante Posta. As an interior architect in Hamburg, Germany I really loved the simple, but classy way Patrizia furnished her apartment, it's contemporary but not frosty: 'less is more'. Thank you for letting out your apartment to us !!! La Ringrazio !!!
We wanted to maximise our time in Bologna, so wanted to stay in the centre so that we were close to all places & sites to visit. This apartment provided this, and was on the floor above the famous Tamburinis' Deli.
It was lovely and clean and had every amenity we needed for the week that we stayed there, and enabled us to get around to see everything within Bologna on foot - without having to use public transport.
Bologna itself is a beautiful city, with enough to see over the space of a week - without getting bored, but also without having to rush around.
The only downside was that being so central - there was the inevitable noise from outside throughout the night from passers bys. However, this was a small price to pay for its' location.
We would certainly do it again - and would not hesitate to spend our holidays in Bologna - a wonderful city with some lovely attractions and fantastic restaurants.
Many thanks Patrizia for making our stay so enjoyable.
The apartment was all as advertised and more. Patrizia, a very nice lady, has done a great job with this apartment. The furnishings are very new and the apartment contains everything one could expect. A nice touch is the nespresso maker and supplied coffee. The portable A/C worked fine, the bed was comfortable and most of all the location is perfect between the two towers and Piazza Maggiore with several good restaurants on the street below.. Do youself a favor and stay here.
What a beautiful apartment! Spacious bedroom/living area, plenty of closet space, big windows. Well-appointed kitchen (which we didn't use--so many great restaurants within walking distance!). Located on a pedestrian-only street, lined with shops and cafes. Other reviews have commented on the noise--yes, it's noisy, so just be prepared for that. We were, and didn't mind it at all. It's close enough to walk to the train station for a day trip to Florence or Venice, and a taxi stand is just down the block if you need to get to the airport. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Loved Bologna, and loved this great apartment!
We chose this apartment carefully because we wanted a really central location, with all of the major sights accessible on foot. We also wanted to be near the Mercato di Mezzo so that we could shop at the open air stalls, and carry our bags quickly home. Everything worked out perfectly for us. We were able to start each day with an enjoyable early-morning shop. Atti sells wonderful bread, pasta and local delicacies such as frangipane. Tamburini is famous for its prosciutto and cheese. Gilberto, the local wine shop, has an excellent selection of local wines, including the underrated Lambrusco which goes perfectly with the rich local diet. There are also fish stalls, butchers and excellent fruit and vegetables. After shopping we set out sightseeing, on foot. A few metres to the West is Piazza Maggiore, where you will find San Petronio and Palazzo d'Accursio (home of the civic art collection). To the Northeast, Via Zamboni leads to the University, the Pinacoteca Nazionale and the Anatomical Wax Museums. To the Southeast, Via Santo Stefano leads to the atmospheric church complex of the same name: to the South, Via Castiglione leads to San Domenico and the superlative ice cream shop "Sorbetteria". Bologna can also be used as a base for excursions by rail to Modena, Ferrara etc: the station is a short taxi ride away, and there are abundant taxis at the rank in Piazza Maggiore. The tourist office in Piazza Maggiore is really helpful. The apartment is clean and newly fitted out. There is a lift, which worked perfectly during our stay. The shower is powerful, the bed very comfortable, the air-conditioning adequate. Patrizia was amazingly helpful, and due to our late arrival time offered to pick us up from the airport. At night this area, known as the "Quadrilatero", is the hub of Bologna's nightlife and it is therefore noisy: we are used to this, because we live in a city centre. We loved our holiday in Bologna and when we come back we will definitely stay here again.
