We found this gem of rental earlier this year after seeing the ad for homeaway.com during the super bowl.

This vacation rental is excellent for so many reasons. If you're a couple looking to get away and enjoy the city for a week or weekend, look no further. The condo comes with a complete assortment of cooking utensils if you choose to be frugal with your money. However, if you choose to dine out there are many, MANY, places to eat in the immediate area.

I would suggest spending the extra money on the garage spot if your car is a reasonable size. You can use transit to get around the city and this location is perfectly located at a key transit point. We didn't need our car for five days!

The ammenities in the condo are perfect, from the very comfortable bed to the flat screen tv. The roof deck is terrific with great views and easy access. You'll also have plenty of linens if needed and get more if requested.

Back to dining: there is a place that was featured on travel channel's "Man vs. Food" called "Ike's Place". It's a two block walk, completely worth the walk and wait for an absolutely excellent sandwich.

I can't say enough about how amazing this rental is and how the staff was professional and courteous during the purchasing and check-in. We have already discussed returning to this exact location in the future.

This place is absolutely perfect. It is spacious, very clean and everything you could possibly need is supplied. I stayed on my own but this place can easily accommodate 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. Location is great and parking is always available and free. The owners are always available if you require any help and are extremely accomodating. If you want a clean place with all the facilities you could possibly require I recommend this place 100%! This really made my trip perfect - thanks so much!

My husband and I stayed in this studio unit for a month and we simply loved it! The listing description being extremely accurate we found the apartment delightfully spacious, very clean, well maintained, thoughtfully equipped (very useful for the likes of us who were here for work) with a writing desk complete with stationery, free internet access, and a printer, and, tastefully decorated with functional yet stylish furniture, including an easy to use and very comfy murphy bed. As we stayed for a month it was important for us to have a proper kitchen and this studio did not disappoint -- the kitchen came more than adequately stocked with good quality pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, and equipped with dishwasher, cooking range, oven, and microwave. We felt happy, comfortable and safe in this charming apartment, which was always so full of light and air with large windows in the front and a fairly large window in the back by the kitchen. And, of course we loved the location -- very conveniently situated near all the MUNI metro lines and many of the bus lines, nestled among some of the city's most vibrant neighborhoods, and stones throw from farmers markets, groceries, great restaurants, and cafes making it so easy for us to be car-less. Last but certainly not the least, our hosts Allison and Howard are two of the most generous and friendly people we have met! They were so easy to work with during the booking process answering all my incessant questions patiently and with care. We thank them for their impeccable "customer service" -- they did above and beyond what one can expect to make our stay in San Francisco comfortable and convenient. Taking everything into account -- the quality of the apartment, the prime location, incredible service -- the value of this place is excellent in a city known for its high rents! If you are considering this place we strongly encourage you to try it. Not only will we rent it again when we visit San Francisco next, we will wholeheartedly recommend it to all our friends and relatives. In the days of pricey and impersonal hotels this unit is a gem of a value whether one is staying for one night or one month. And, if you stay here don't miss the desserts of Thorough Bread on Church street!

Nice location close to transport (MUNI and tram), some great eats and freindly bars on Market and Castro. Very quiet and slept like a baby every night. The owner happened to be in the apartment next door at the time and was very attentive without compromising our privacy. We were given an extra heater when it got a bit chilly and we didn't ask for it. Very thoughtful. The apartment was clean and very tidy - I will be booking the apartment on my next trip to San Francisco. Thank you

We thought this apartment was a tremendous value. Try getting a hotel room in the City at this rate! It was a great 3-night stay.
We stepped off the "N" line (straight from CalTrain) - in two short blocks we were at 56 Sanchez, passing a laundry, coffee/sandwich shop (with $2.50 Happy Hour pints) and dogpark on the way.
The apartment was sunny and very well equipped: nice linens, lots of dishes, large wall-mounted TV, iPod player, plenty of clothes hangers, cooking spices, even some stationery. The Murphy bed was easy to raise and lower. The apartment seemed very spacious with the bed up. The windows in the apartment open for fresh air.
Parking is dear (we enjoyed the move-the-car-it's-street-sweeping-day ballet from the bay window) but we got around the city fine on public transit; connecting lines are everywhere. The "N" line ($2.00) takes you back to AT&T Park, where we saw my Dodgers rout the Giants on a beautifully sunny day. (The "N" line connects to BART at several stops downtown.)
A tip from owner Allison about the farmers' market Wednesday 4-8 pm on Noe/15th yielded us a wonderful picnic-style meal in the apartment: smoked trout, goat cheese, asparagus, new potatoes, and a remarkable cranberry pulgiese bread. We're sorry we passed on the gelatos.
The fabulous Memphis Minnies's barbeque is two blocks up Steiner at Haight. Safeway supermarket is two blocks away. Chow restaurant, a local favorite, is two blocks away. It's a great neighborhood in a fantastic city.
We'd stay here again, no doubt! Our communication with the owner was very good. It was easy to arrange our arrival meet.

We've spent a week in the studio in June 2010. The apartment is very nice and spacious for 2 people, everything looks new and in very good condition. The house is located on a calm and quite street but there's a very easy access to metro and other public transportation. It is also easily accessible by car and we have used the garage just below the apartment for a very reasonable extra charge (note however that the space in the garage is limited and using it even for medium-sized car is somewhat challenging).

I should separately mention that the owners were extremely helpful and pleasant to deal with. They have provided us with plenty of tips and travel information that really helped to plan our visit to San Francisco.

We had the best experience in this condo. We rented the 2 bedroom and it is exactly as depicted but better. It is so comfortable with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The kitchen is wonderful and because my daughter is a chef, this was a must. The backyard is what makes this place and with access to it right out the back door, it couldn't be easier. We had glorious weather so each day we started with sitting out there. Alison is so, so helpful making the whole experience from start to finish, the best!

My husband and I, along with our little dog spend 4 nights at this wonderful little studio in Castro. It was the perfect size with the big PLUS of the kitchen. The neighborhood was great; quiet and friendly with a lot of shops and restaurants all within walking distance. Our favorite was Chow - which was recommended by the owners and it was absolutely wonderful. The dog park down the block was great, but there are plenty of trees around the blocks that our dog enjoyed as well. Our biggest concern heading there was parking - which in the end we had absolutely no problem with. The farthest we had to park was about a block and a half away, but we mainly parked on the block of the apartment. It is 2 hour parking except on weekends and evenings, but wasn't hard to find a spot.

Was also a good location for walking to just about all the sights - mind you its a lot of walking, but as long as you don't care its definitely possible (or a great location to get on all public transportation).

The owners were a real pleasure to work with as well as the apartment manager. We had a wonderful time here and will definitely consider staying here next time we travel to San Fran!
