Having travelled the world for the past 40 years my wife and I have had many experiences, both good and bad and it was with some trepidation that booked a villa in an unknown part of the world for three weeks.
What a wonderful surprise to arrive at this beautiful 18th century stone farmhouse set amongst olive groves and looking out over the gentle hills of Umbria.
We were met by Franco the caretaker who opened the farmhouse and explained the operation of the house and pool. This in itself was an adventure as Franco spoke Italian and French and sadly, we only English. However with the aid of an I Pad and translation App we got by.
The farmhouse has all one needs for a relaxing holiday with comfortable beds and furniture and a lovely ambience that’s hard to explain.
The master bed room upstairs looks out over the hills and incorporates an ensuite and is very roomy with a queen size bed. The two other bedrooms on this level share a bathroom and both have delightful vistas also.
Downstairs the next bedroom is also complete with its own ensuite and opens up into the dining room.
Many an hour was spent in the kitchen around the table with access to an outdoor eating area that overlooked the pool where we had breakfeast every morning.
However it is the long table under the verandah next to the front door that is the "Piece de Resistance" as far as we are concerned. This became our communal table where the family discussed the days events, planned the next adventure and laughed and argued over many a bottle of Italian vino. Here you can sit with glass of wine in hand as the sun sets and watch the colour of the day gently change through those Tuscan shades to night, just a wonderful, wonderful feeling.
The house and pool are beautifully maintained by Franco and his family and nothing is a problem to them. There is a washing machine and enough wood for a hundred BBQ's.
There are various shops, good restaurants and lovely Spoleto to visit.
We will definitely be back.

Nous (2 familles avec de grands enfants - 10 personnes) avons passé 2 semaines magnifiques dans cette superbe propriété : beaucoup d'espace, vue superbe, belle piscine, accueil chaleureux et surtout informatif par Bernard, grande disponibilité et serviabilité de Franco ("concierge").
De nombreuses villes et villages médiévaux à visiter dans les environs et même Rome est accessible. Voiture indispensable.
