An old stone farmhouse in the village of Kercem, which was cool and welcoming at the end of a hot day.
As others have said, it is a bit basic, but provides all the necessities. A party of six adults might want to check it will suit (the third bedroom, with the twin beds and a cot, is off the main double room on the first floor, which might not suit everyone, there are only four comfy seats in the lounge, and the downstairs bathroom only has the "handheld" shower you can see in the photos), but for smaller groups/families there is plenty of space.
The 1st floor terrace is a sun trap, great for breakfasts, aperitifs and even barbecues. The roof terrace with two sun-loungers is a bit stark, but has some really great views.
Food provided included bottled water, milk, tea bags, coffee, some butter pats and marmalade. There area couple of supermarkets and a bakery nearby, so it's easy to get anything else you might need - don't miss the opportunity to try the local bread, cheese and wine.
Maria was very helpful and organised taxis from/to the airport, which were good value and smoothed the journey.
Victoria is about 20 mins walk, although there is a bus stop nearby. We also walked through Fontana to Xlendi, and scrambled back up the cliffs. It's also worth walking on beyond the edge of the village to L-Ghadira ta’ San Rafflu, a small lake. The lake itself isn't hugely exciting, but the views down the cliff to Xlendi and across to the Citadel and Xewkija easily repay the effort - visibility is probably best in the evening, in the mornings it can be a little misty.
