As first time visitors to Skopelos, the Blue Cottage provided a fantastic base to explore from, though sometimes it was hard to drag ourselves away from the pool and surrounding terrace which was very well appointed and had plenty of shade throughout the day.

The location couldn't be faulted, it's quiet and has wonderful views of the surrounding countryside, but isn't too remote. You can drive to Skopelos town or a good beach within 15 minutes.

The house was very comfortable with plenty of space for 5 adults and a toddler to spread out, though due to the steps and pool they needed to be supervised when outside. The downstairs bedrooms were really useful as they were self contained and provided a cool space during the day if the sun got too much. Having a second fridge downstairs was great for the watermelon and beer!

The car hire organised by Dimitris through Magic Rent-a-Car was very simple, everything was waiting for us when we stepped off the ferry. Magic were also very flexible when we wanted to extend our booking later on, highly recommended. Car hire whilst staying at the Blue Cottage is essential.

Dimitris and his family were fantastic and very accommodating. As well as driving up to clean out the pool and house every couple of days they were wonderful hosts, even taking us back to the ferry on the last day when we didn't have a car and accommodating 2 members of our party whilst they waited for the evening ferry. Imagine getting that sort of service from a tour rep!

Skopelos itself is a fantastic island, not too touristy like Skiathos, but with a gentle charm and plenty to see and do. Evening cocktails in Bpaxos bar overlooking Skopelos harbour are highly recommended, as is the food in The Orchard restaurant. Agnanti in Glossa was another one of our favourite restaurants.

We tried most of the beaches on the island during our stay and found that Limnonari was our favourite due to ease of parking, simple facilities and sheltered swimming, but without being too crowded.

The Carrefour supermarket on the outskirts of town is good for general supplies and has easy parking and icy cold air-conditioning, but head to town for your daily bread.

We would definitely come back to Skopelos and having found the Blue Cottage it seems foolish to go anywhere else.

My husband and I and our teenage son and daughter spent a wonderful week at the Blue Cottage in August 2010. If you are looking for somewhere to really switch off, there could not be a more idyllic place. The Blue Cottage has a unique magic and you cannot help but be charmed by its traditional style and stunning patios and views.
It was a pleasure to meet Dimitris and we can only reiterate the comments of the other reviewers.
This is a place none of us will forget and I am sure we will return to one day.

Kastani was our favourite beach and we would like to recommend Taverna Peparithos, on the back road into Skopelos and The Art Cafe at Ditropo for an extra special meal. The back streets of Skopelos town are enchanting and definitely worth having a wander around (take a camera). A car is essential.

The Blue Cottage is such a wonderful place to stay. Perfectly quiet and not too far from the beach. There are such wonderful aromas on the way to the Blue Cottage from all the roade side herbs and the fragrance of the surrounding pine forests make it a wonderful place even better.
It's not too far to Skopelos town for relaxed evenings out and even closer to the country roads that meander through the pine forests

The house has all that is needed to live comfortably and the outdoor areas are so inviting you don't really wan to leave to go anywhere.

Dimitris and his family are friendly, very accommodating and genuine, sincere people.

Skopelos is such a wonderful place to vacation - everything you need to have a peaceful time.

Just got back from Skopelos where we stayed at the Blue Cottage. It was the most relaxing vacation ever, we rarely saw cars driving by, it is the perfect location if you are looking to " recharge " yourself. The owners ( Dimitri and his mother ) cleaned the house every other day and changed towels and sheets. The house is an easy drive to some of the best beaches, we especially liked Hovolo and Kastani. Highly Recommended !!!!

What a wonderful holiday.......... the setting was perfect.
The views were amazing. The owners were very helpful and provided an excellent service from car hire to to the very well maintained and clean property.

Car Hire is essential. We would recommend this holiday to a family who want a quiet and relaxing time in wonderful surroundings. Skopelos Town is great for lovely restaurants and bars.
