Casa Rosa has been our perfect “home away from home”. Even the drive to Sulmona is full of picturesque beauty, and so we’ve enjoyed our frequent visits to this beautiful city with so much to see and enjoy there.
Bugnara has been a delight as well. We think that the interior of the cathedral in Bugnara is magnificent, the sacred art in there is gorgeous.
Abruzzo is a very special region of Italy. It has been a pleasure and privilege to experience the people (warm and Kind), the food (outstanding) and scenery (stunning). Jo and Dave thank you for making our stay so comfortable, we hope to return! J. & M., Illinois, U.S.A.

We loved your house in Bugnara. The area is also great. We walked a lot and had the perfect wheather to do that.
Maybe we will come back with our families (we are two woman and are friends
since university). And we will of course tell our friends what a great place we stayed.

We spent a lovely couple of weeks in this lovely Village House in Bugnara. From the very beginning of our enquiries to the time of our arrival, Joanna the owner provided excellent communication and information, in fact I said to her on more than one occasion that she could give lessons to other owners on this site, in how to deal with the customers! The house itself is lovely with a variety of outdoor spaces and a lovely rooftop terrace. The house is very comfortable with everything you need for self catering. There was a good bus service from Bugnara to Sulmona and other local villages. Sulmona is a fantastic place to visit, which we did a number of times on the local bus service. We were lucky enough to be there for the Giostra, the local Jousting tournament, which was fantastic. If you want to stay in an authentic Italian hamlet, then Bugnara is the place. A car would be recommended if you wish to venture further afield. We did not have a car, but managed to do most things by public transport, including taking the bus from Rome Tiburtina to Sulmona. We hope to return to this area one day, and would absolutely stay in Casa Rosa again.

Excellent weeks stay at Casa Rosa which was a comfortable & spacious villa providing excellent sun bathing opportunites. Quiet village however Ginos bar was very close with free WIFI & drinks at welcome prices e g Cappuccinos for 1 euro.
No car but with a little planning, early starts & a little walking we had a great introduction to this area of Abruzzo. Scenery is breathtaking and whilst we visited various towns/cities including Pescara our favorites were the nearby Sulmona & Scanno. Sulmona is a vibrant attractive town & Scanno(up in the mountains) offered different opportunities. Before reaching the Scanno itself you see a lake named after the town-great fun on a pedalo! We accessed the mountains by ski chairlift up to 1600 metres & we enjoyed the views, the cooler temperatures & the walks. Jo the owner is very helpful & provided us with local information before our departure .If you have never visited this area try it you wont be disappointed!

We’ve had a wonderful 5 days in Abruzzo and love the area, Bugnara and especially Casa Rosa – it was everything I’d hoped for and more. We are so happy we chose to visit this part of Italy! We saw and did so much and at the end of the day it was wonderful to come “home” to this cosy little house. Bugnara and Sulmona were our favourite towns. Thank you for all your help. B & F, U.S.A. My husband and I were very happy with the accommodations at Casa Rosa for our 5 day stay. Jo was a blessing with all the questions she answered before our trip as this was our first visit to Italy. The house had everything that we needed for our stay and the rooftop terrace was our favorite part of the house. Our visit in early October had gorgeous weather and we ate all our dinners looking over the valley. The local villagers that we met during our walks around town were friendly, helpful, and willing to help me with my limited Italian. It was the perfect base to view the surrounding area and I highly recommend it if you are looking for an authentic experience of living as an Italian.
