Die Ferienwohnungen sind herrlich ruhig und in hervorragendem Zustand sowie liebevoll, modern und komplett eingerichtet. Allein der Wasserdruck ist manchmal etwas schwach, was aber nicht den Eigentümer anzulasten ist, die sich herzlich und zuvorkommend um ihre Gäste kümmern. Die eigene Wohnung wird durch die Gemeinschaftseinrichtungen (Waschmaschine und Trockner sowie CDs und DVDs) und professionelle Prospekte der Gegend und eigene Wanderwegsbeschreibungen der Eigentümer ergänzt.

Zwar liegen die Häuser schon sehr weit abseits, dafür lässt sich Hartland Peninsula von hieraus hervorragend zu Fuß und mit dem Auto erkunden. Aber auch zum nächsten Einkaufen oder Surfschule in Bude sind es auch nur 25 Minuten Autofahrt. Ebenso lassen sich schnell Abstecher nach Cornwall sowie ins Exmoor und Bartmoor machen.

Es war sicher nicht unser letzter Urlaub in Southole!

Die Southole Barns sind ein fantastischer Ort zum Entspannen, Erholen und zur Ruhe kommen - all das abgelegen in einer sehr ländlichen Gegend, die besonders durch die faszinierende Unberührtheit der Natur, deren Vielfalt und einsame Strände überzeugt.
Die Barns sind mit viel Liebe zum Detail stilvoll eingerichtet und es mangelt an nichts - von Flaschenöffner bis Wasserkocher fanden wir alles vor, was wir benötigten zum Selbstversorgerurlaub.
Die Besitzer kümmern sich hervorragend um die Gäste, wir fühlten uns in jeder Hinsicht willkommen.

Ein Urlaub, der der Seele gut tut!

We had read previous reviews. They were excellent. So excellent that the niggling thought intruded, 'surely nothing could be that good!' Well it was and it is. There really was a cream tea on arrival along with a vase of fresh roses. Details you say! But in that detail the whole was reflected. The accommodation cannot be faulted. Seldon was an unobtrusive host, but always helpful when needed. The coastal path is 150 yards away and gives magnificent walking. The local pub, The Old Smithy, is a gem of 70's retro and the food is good too. We would certainly recommend Southole Barns to anyone and, with luck and a following wind, will be back next year.

The flats are quiet and in excellent conditions as well as furnished in a lovingly, modern and complete way. The landlords are heartily and obligingly looking after their guests. Your own flat is added by shared equipment (washing machine, dryer as well as cd's and dvd's) and professional leaflets of the area and descriptions of hiking trails written by the landlords.

The buildings are very apart situated but from here you can explore Hartland Peninsula by feet or car in a great manner. The next places to shop and surf (including a surf school) in Bude are only 25 minutes away by car. As well you can make trips to Cornwall, Exmoor and Dartmoor.

We are sure these were not our last holidays in Southole!

Sehr schöne, gemütlich und geschmackvoll eingerichtete Ferienwohnung.
Besonders zu erwähnen, die sehr gut ausgestattete Küche!
Absolute Ruhe und Beschaulichkeit rundherum.
Nur ein kurzer Wanderweg über die Kuhweide bis zur wunderschönen Steilküste an den Küstenwanderweg.

- Erholungssuchende

Lassen Sie sich von den kleinen Straßen bei der Anfahrt nicht abschrecken.
Die Engländer fahren sehr rücksichtsvoll.
Unbedingt die Anfahrtsbeschreibung des Vermieters einhalten!
Empfehlung: Mieten Sie ein kleines Auto wegen der teilweise sehr schmalen Straßen.

My fiance and I spent 4 nights at the South Hole Barns. We had the pleasure of relaxing in Week St. Mary during our stay. The entire experience was so much more than we expected. The cottage had a very charming, country feel to it while providing the comforts of everyday living. They are perfectly furnished for a self-catering rental. Seldon made sure we had everything we needed and gave us plenty of great tips on exploring the area. He even lent me a pair of boots for hiking as I was not prepared for the rain. We couldn't have asked for a better host.
South Hole and the entire Devon region are quite amazing. Such great history, breath taking scenery and friendly people. It's truly a relaxing place. I am looking forward to making our way back and spending some more time at the South Hole Barns.
