As a frequent visitor (and previous resident) in Italy for over 20 years, I consider myself somewhat of a purist when it comes to experiencing 'real' Italian life. For a recent trip in July with my family, I chose LO STUDIETTO for our party of three and found it to be the most perfect base for an authentic Capri holiday.

Tucked away on one of Capri town's most central and charming streets, this cosy and quiet little flat is just the perfect balance for the sometimes overwhelming glamour of Capri and it's tourist filled streets.

Antonella and her family are gracious hosts and always available to offer a bit of advice for where the perfect pizza (and not the least bit bothered when their forgetful guests forget their keys! - thanks again Antonella!)

You can experience Capri from some of the most exquisite (and expensive) hotel rooms in Italy, but if you want to relax, enjoy the convenience and simplicity of a stroll down the street to the local bakery in the morning for your Brioche and experience the charmed life of the Caprese - stay here (and save your money for the shopping).

We really enjoyed our stay at Lo Studietto as it made a perfect base for our family holiday. Antonella met us off the boat with a warm welcome and our funicular tickets which was an indication of the delightful personal touches that she and Paola would provide during the week (such as presenting us with delicious fresh figs / tomatoes, tips on where to eat and favourite places to visit). We overheard people on sunbeds in front of us at Torre Saracena beach say that they had paid 700 euros a night somewhere and "it wasn't that special" so I think we were lucky to find such a super place. I came for a day trip 30 years ago and always knew I would return so thank you girls for helping to make it a memorable holiday. It's true what they say, Capri is special and you made it moreso! My husband and I are not the young people who frequent the Isle of Capri. We are a much older couple from the USA and were looking for a quiet, romantic place to vacation in May 2008. We spent 8 wonderful nights and 9 magnificent days. We are not world travelers so were not sure what to expect of renting an apartment in a foreign land. Let me tell you, it was wonderful!!! The apartment was one of the easiest places to locate......Via Croce, if one knows how to read a map, it is right there. It is on the flat, so every time we would leave the apartment we didn't have to climb a hill or go down a hill only to come back up a hill. The apartment was clean and very comfortable. The private patio was absolutely beautiful. The flowers were wonderful. The kitchenette was a lot of fun to cook in and yes, I did cook. I almost felt like a real Italian woman in her own little home. Yes, it felt like home. Antonella was a charm to deal with. She answered all questions very well and honestly. Paola, was wonderful. She felt like family to us. We are so very blessed to have met her. Once on the island, she pointed us to the proper locations and we even taught her of a new restaurant which was just up the hill from the apartment. It was a new bar/restaurant called Chiosco Bar Due Calipsi. The owner sang Italian songs for us and the dinner and wine was very good and inexpensive (really inexpensive compared to most). The grocery store up the hill was always very helpful, the little mini mart down the road was also very helpful, especially the deli man. Would I recommend the apartment to others?........absolutely, no question about it. It was home away from home and truly hope that Paola and I can stay in touch. Three girlfriends and I spent a week on Capri at Lo Studietto. It is a great location just a hop, skip and jump from La Piazetta, shopping and transportation. You truely feel like a local, complete with your own Gate and courtyard. The gate comes in handy late at night with those young Italian men following you... : ).

The kitchenette was perfect for pre dinner wine and cheese prep - we ate out all the time so did not really prepare any meals. I think Lo Studietto is a great bargain for the space and location, a hidden gem.

Antonella is great at answering your questions and communicating. Her Parents live next door and are super friendly and helpful.

One suggestion, get good directions - we used the address 1 via croce - which translates to cross street, which there are many. It took us forever to find the apartment as we got pointed to many cross streets by locals trying to be helpful.

My family and I live on the beautiful island of Bali, and wanted to spend time in Capri, this time not in a hotel, but in an apartment where we could spread out, cook meals, and feel like we were part of this beautiful part of the world.
How lucky we were to come across Lo Studietto on the internet; it was absolutely perfect for our holiday.
The location is superb; right in the heart of beautiful Capri and yet quiet, in a very private setting surrounded by bouganvilleas.
The owners, who live next door were so charming and helpful, giving us suggestions on places to eat and shop.
For convenience, just a few doors away is the mini market which has absolutely everything you could need in food and wine, and also just a walk away incredible fresh seafood.
The apartment is completely self contained; two good size, modern bedrooms and bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and living/dining room.
Our teenage children could wander around the town exploring the lanes and walkays in complete safety; it was absolutely the most ideally positioned apartment.
We discovered a different Capri by staying here; feeling so much more 'local' than if staying at a hotel.
We're already planning our next vacation and it will certainly be again at Lo Studietto.
It was a memorable holiday..in fact, perfect!
