a truly wonderful place to stay.
the moment we drove up to the Moulin, we knew we had made the right decision to come here.
it was magical and peaceful and the owners Jude and Julian could not have done enough, they were warm and friendly and made our stay fabulous in every way.
we stayed in the gardeners cottage, there was four of us and it was
as described, a twin bedded room downstairs near the bathroom, and a double bed upstairs, where the staircase takes a few days to get used to, but not for children.
the room off of the double room, had a vaulted ceiling, with a single bed.
all the beds were very comfortable and clean.
our cottage overlooked the courtyard next to jude and julians house., which was fine.
the pool was essential, after our touring around we found to be able to swim when we got back great.
although they had a hot tub, we did not use it, although if we had had time, i am sure we owuld have done.
Jude cooked us two meals while we were there, which were excellent, definitely restaurant standard and so many courses.... you were fully stuffed after eating that lot!
the Moulin was in an ideal position for touring, we visited many places from there. Loches was ony a few kilometers away, we went to the chateau at Villandry, which had spectacular gardens and grounds.
we visited Amboise, and Montresor, very good places to go.
Chenonceau was another fine place, on the river, we did the boat trip, but looking back we should have driven to the chateau and gardens and gone in.
the market at Loches on a Wednesday is great, and we bought a locally produced Paella and cooked chicken.,we had a feast when we got back., which was well worth the money.
Le Moulin has a wonderful lake and surrounding area, ideal for fishermen, but also an amazing sight to see.
the other properties there we visited, the Bread Oven, was a small haven 'love nest' for any couple to share.
the gardeners cottage ,larger than ours with three good size bedrooms we would have preferred, but it was already taken when we enquired, we would have this one next time, but you do have to book early.
a truly magical restful; place to stay and we enjoyed every minute of it.
Jude and Julian, the perfect hosts - including Monseiur jacques, the family cat and of course Saskia their delightful daughter.
