From the start communications with Olivier, the managing partner, inspired me with confidence. Olivier was very pleasant and informative and guided me throughout the booking. He was also flexible on dates and made no fuss for my requests.
The property itself is beautiful throughout. I thought it looked good in the pictures, but turned out to be even better than expected on arrival. We were met by Barbara and some gentlemen whose names escape me now. They welcomed us wonderfully and immediately made us feel at home after the flight and drive to the place. It's not so easy to find, but that's part of it's charm.
The property is situated on the outskirts of Caldas Da Rainha and definitely has a rural feel. It appears to once have been part of a farm. The gardens are now beautifully cultivated with an automatic irrigation system. (Don't leave your clothes on the line over night. they'll just get soaked again by the sprinklers which I saw come on at 3am.) There is a supermarket a few minutes drive away and again the staff were very patient and accommodating. Foz De Arelho is pretty much the perfect beach and is just a 10 minute drive away. It is the Atlantic Ocean so not as warm as the Mediterranean, but superb with wonderfully friendly restaurants, cafes etc. The sea at Foz is thrilling for those that want a thrill, but the beach also encapsulates a lagoon that is clear, still and very safe for both small children and adults.
The whole experience was delightful, the property was clean and was easy to keep clean. Dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, ironing board and pretty much everything you'd want for home comforts were available.
In writing this I'm having to search for any downsides. I guess it would have been nice to have the internet at the house, but on the other hand it's nice to just break away without access to the routine technology. Also I suppose towels in the bathroom would have been nicer, especially since there are so many bathrooms. Personally I would prefer the gas and electric to be included in the price, with a proviso in the contract that excessive usage above a given figure would be deducted from the guarantee/deposit.
The above minor points did not really detract from a most delightful experience and I would highly recommend this property. I fully intend to return the property at my next opportunity.

We are constantly listening to all the request coming from of our guests, we are eager to improve continuously all the details of any kind in order to render the stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. This comment is therefore a recompense for all our efforts and provides us with some satisfaction. We will definitely continue with the same spirit: continous improvement and satisfaction of all ! For what concerns the cost of the energy, the "normal" consumption is around 60 € per week. Of course some tenant are less concerned about energy consumption and consume therefore more energy. We believe that the "normal" users should not pay for the "big" users of energy. We like to have a very simple system and this is the reason why the cost of the energy is invoiced, at cost on the basis of a common reading of the official meters at the beginning and at the end of the rental.
