My wife, my 15 month old son and myself had a wonderful week at Casa Soalheira...the farmhouse was perfect, the garden and pool wonderful and the owner Mikel, couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful during and after our stay. We left a couple of things behind when we left and he most kindly posted them back to the UK to us...thanks again Mikel!

The location was perfect, with beaches and towns within easy reach with the local store/bar/cafe proving useful! However, if you are arriving in the evening as we did, make sure you have something to eat and drink as you will not be able to buy anything when you arrive!

All in all, a wonderful week...we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Casa Soalheira and we hope to visit again soon.

Malgré des pluies torrentielles (5 jours sur 8), nous avons passé, grâce surtout à Casa Soaleira, des vacances agréables et paisibles. Le propriétaire nous avait mis à disposition du bois pour la cheminée, que nous avons allumée tous les soirs, dès que nous rentrions de nos "field trips". Nos 3 jeunes enfants étaient un peu déçus de ne pas pouvoir profiter de la belle piscine, mais ils ont bien joué dans le grand jardin et étaient contents d'avoir à disposition KiKa (chaîne télé pour enfants, via satellite). Les parents et la grand-mère aussi, car ça leur permettait de se ressourcer dans le salon accueillant devant la cheminée, avec un livre et un verre de bon vin portugais à la main.
Derrière les murs épais de Casa Soaleira, le vent et la pluie étaient vite oubliés!
Magnifique proriété très bien entretenue, dans un petit village, où le café du coin n'est heureusement pas encore envahi par les touristes ou les retraités expatriés.
Petit tuyau: n'oubliez pas les bottes en caoutchouc et les parapluies quand vous y allez en novembre.

Die Villa Soalheira war in Wirklichkeit noch schöner als auf den Fotos der Homepage! Wir haben uns super wohlgefühlt in diesem zauberhaften Ambiente. Den halben Tag verbrachten wir am sehr gepflegten Pool und erkundeten in der restlichen Zeit die faszinierende Umgebung mit pittoresken Orten und Landschaften. Die Tipps und Empfehlungen von Mikel (Restaurants, Ausflüge etc...) waren sehr hilfreich, haben uns gut gefallen und waren mit dem Auto gut zu erreichen.
Wir genossen die warmen Sommerabende auf der gemütlichen Terrasse oder im nett eingerichteten Wohnraum.
Dieser zweiwöchige Traumurlaub ließ bei uns Vieren keine Wünsche offen.

We were very brave this year and decided to make the epic journey with our 4 babies (all under the age of 5) to a holiday in the sun! From the start we were lucky to come across Casa Soleria and the wonderful owner Mikel. He answered all our many questions and queries efficiently and gave us lots of invaluable advice. Once on the ground (it was so easy to find the Villa using the detailed directions, map, screen shots and grid reference that were provided) we met Mikel at the property he and took time to show us around before leaving us safe in the knowledge that should we need anything he was available by phone anytime. The villa itself was very well kitted out and everything worked well, appliances, plumbing, security. It was so comfortable that we actually found ourselves cooking (or BBQing) and even washing our clothes on holiday which was great. The property was very comfortable and cool indoors during the day and the patio area offered great shade in the garden. Of course the pool was a big hit. Everything was very well maintained, with a maid calling weekly and pool and gardens being tended to. Out and about we found our bearings very quickly – there is a mini mart and bar literally at the top of the road and wonderful local restaurants nearby. A little further afield (minutes by car) are the towns of St Barbara de Nexe & Sao Bras with fantastic shops and other amenities. Plenty of fresh affordable produce meant our home from home was always well stocked up with lovely meat and fish for the BBQ and salad and fruit in the fridge. It was always very quiet and peaceful (day and night) and some days we didn’t even venture off the property but rather had a lazy day by the pool before firing up the BBQ in the evenings and enjoying a beer or a glass of wine while our steaks cooked away and the children rested in the sitting room watching DVDs. The locals made us feel very welcome when we were out and about, they are wonderful inviting people and rightly very proud of their beautiful country and all it has to offer. I can honestly say that our stay at Casa Soleria was probably the best family holiday we have ever had and before we left we made enquiries with Mikel about a future visit. I would whole heartedly recommend this to anyone looking for a luxurious, relaxing, comfortable, peaceful holiday away from city life where were you can eat well, sight see, shop and at the end of each day return to this magnificent Villa. Twee weken lang mochten wij met ons jonge gezin genieten van deze fantastische home-away. We hebben genoten van iedere minuut. Het is een heerlijke plek voor iedereen die op zoek is naar rust en houd van een authentieke plek om vakantie te vieren. Het huis is prachtig en met veel liefde ingericht. Het is sfeervol en van alle gemakken voorzien. De tuin is prachtig en goed onderhouden, de vogels weten er ook hun weg te vinden en fluiten van 's ochtends vroeg tot 's avonds laat hun verschillende liedjes.
Het zwembad zorgt voor verfrissing op warme dagen net als het overdekte terras.
De eigenaar is een enorm aardige vent die zo vriendelijk was om een tijdelijke afrastering te maken langs het terras zodat onze twee kleine kindjes veilig konden spelen en we niet bang hoefden te zijn dat ze in een onvoorzien ogenblik toch het zwembad zouden induiken. Die twee kleintjes hebben hier overigens ook de tijd van hun leven gehad.
De omgeving waarin het huis staat is werkelijk prachtig en met een huurauto zijn veel mooie plekken makkelijk te bereiken.
Enige minpuntje was het bed, dat voor de vader des huizes met zijn bijna twee meter iets te klein was. Desondanks is dit wat ons betreft zo'n plekje dat je het liefst voor jezelf zou willen houden...!

Wij waren met 2 stellen voor 8 dagen te gast in deze mooi verbouwde boerderij. Gelijk bij binnenkomst voelden we ons thuis. Prachtig ruim huis, dat uitstekend voldeed aan onze verwachtingen. Alles wat beschreven is over het huis was waar. Een prachtige omgeving, een grote, mooi aangelegde tuin met volledige privacy, een zwembad, klein maar groot genoeg om lekker in af te koelen met 6 ligstoelen, een grote barbeque en een overdekt terras. Alle faciliteiten waren aanwezig met zelfs een wasmachine, hetgeen niet in de omschrijving stond. Zeker een aanrader voor golfers en bezoekers van strand en leuke dorpjes. En even voorbij het dorp is een restaurant, waar je je echt in Portugal waant. Ook complimeneten voor de eigenaar J Mikel, die nergens te beroerd voor was.

We hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad in dit leuke huis. We werden hartelijk ontvangen door de eigenaar en het huis is ruim met een mooie tuin er ok heen. Aan 2 kanten heb je buren, maar je hebt volop privacy. Je auto kun je binnen een eigen poort parkeren. Het huis is goed geoutilleerd. Een paar vaatwasblokjes en wat basisspullen als zout, peper etc waren wel fijn geweest. Een aanrader als je lekker rustig in de Algarve wilt zitten!! In de winter zou ik het huis zelf donker vinden, maar wij zijn de hele week buiten geweest (mei) en dan is het een perfecte vakantiewoning.

This villa is an absolute delight, it lives up to it's everything you could want from a rural location. It is quiet and both the property and gardens are very well maintained. The pool is a good size and the terrace is lovely for an evening meal, but try out the restaurants that the owner recommends especially alagoas for fish its devine. (take the sat nav)

We have every intention of returning as it ticks all the boxes including being only 30 imins from the airport.

Although i would like to keep this find all to myself, i feel it only fair to share and definitely recommend it !
