My family stayed with another in this lovely villa the first week of June. There were 11 people all together and the villa was spacious with many areas for us to spread out and have our privacy. The property is even lovelier than the photos. Everything was in perfect condition and the property manager, Claudine, was available to answer questions, provide advice, etc. We loved the small town of Puyvert and the fact that Lourmarin was walking distance. There were many markets nearby and more beautiful towns than we could explore in a week. Overall, we spent a lovely week exploring the area and relaxing on the patio and around the pool.

We visited in May and at the peak of our visit, we had 11 guests from Canada, New Jersey, Connecticut and Texas. Everyone loved the house with its historical charm, modern kitchen, comfortable gathering and dining places, and beautiful bedrooms.

One of our fondest memories is having breakfast on the patio, next to an old wall covered with hundreds of pink roses, looking onto a beautiful lawn with poplar trees which extended to the pool, beyond which was a lovely field, behind which the morning mist was rising above the mountains.

Puyvert is a charming little town, steeped in history and void of commercialism. Located within walking distance of Lourmarin, which has restaurants, shopping, a wonderful Friday market, and charming cafes, Puyvert was the perfect place to be for daytrips. We traveled to Avignon, the Camargue, Aix-en-Provence and many other towns. We did not want our guests to be "stranded" in the country, and this little village provided us with quiet but enabled our guests to do things on their own if they wished to do so. Also, the supermarket is within 1 km and very convenient.

The home and property were clean and very well maintained. The owner is charming and thoughtful and she responded to all of our requests. Her love of this property is apparent and I am happy that she is willing to share it with others. Her on-site property manager is very eager to help and was responsive to anything we requested.

This was our first overseas rental and we did it with some apprehension. All the details were handled professionally and the owner was responsive, cooperative, and in all cases, an excellent hostess. Our entire visit was extraordinary in that we had good friends in a beautiful, beautiful home in an exceptional location, and good weather (including Le Mistral!). For each of us, this holiday will always be a very special memory.

I recommend this home very highly and cannot imagine that one would be disappointed. As I told my son who arrived two days after my husband and I, "The pictures do not do it justice. It is nicer than we could have imagined."

Feeling at home so far away from home!

Though we saw some images before, we didn't expect the property
that nice and comfortable. Everything in the house is decorated with much
taste and this certain provencial feeling.The kitchen offers everthing you
need to prepare nice food! The house is big enough
to have some rest without other guests. The garden, the pool and the view is
exellent. I don't know what more to say...-we just loved it!!

We stayed at the beautiful Maison Chaix in July "09. There were 3 families,made up of 6 adults and 7 kids aged 8-17. It was an ideal spot for our vacation. The location in Provence is very accessable to all the towns we wanted to vist. We loved being walking distance to Loumarin where we walked for dinner and breakfast many times.The market is fantastic! The house itself is beautiful and allowed a good amount of privacy as well as communal spaces. The yard and pool area is huge and provided hours of relaxation and fun for all of us. The kitchen is well equiped and we cooked in several meals. The owners were extremely accomodating and helped us on several occasions before we arrived and once we were there. We all agreed that if we are fortunate enough to return to this area we would hope to stay here again.

"We had an amazing stay at the beautiful "Maison Chaix" in Puyvert, just
minutes away from Lourmarin. We had 3 families staying there with a total of
5 children. The kids loved it and the adults too! We had plenty of room and
the rooms were very comfortable. The area where the fireplace is makes a
cozy place for adults to hang out when the kids are asleep. The kitchen is
newly updated with new appliances. The back yard is terrific and has a
beautiful view of the mountain landscape. It is also a great place for the
children to play and the gate between the pool and the lawn in the back
makes you feel the children are safe! The owners, although we have not met
them in person, are wonderful to work with and gave us enough information
about the surrounding areas so that our trip included all the main sites
around Provence. The house is also in a great spot to see all these landmarks
such as Aix, Arles, Avignon, Les Baux, etc. We travelled to them by car.
Lourmarin is minutes away and has a great market on Friday. It is also a
beautiful town. Puyvert is a small village and just perfect for some serenity. In
summary, a great stay and highly recommended! "
