We had a really really nice stay at Laura and Jerrys place. The beach is right in front of the lanai (balcony) and we enjoyed the sound of the waves every second we spent there :-) the interior is so nice and chosen with taste and love - you just have to feel comfortable! The kitchen is very well equipped, we could even cook for our baby :-) We also appreciated the variety of "beach-equipment" we could use and play with. We, that means my husband and two little children (3,5 years and 8 months). Laura was very responsive and made everything that we could have a dreamful time in Makaha! Thank you for this unforgettable vacation!

Our stay at Laura and Jerry's condo was wonderful. The condo is gated and has a security gaurd that makes the rounds. The beach in front of the condo is beautiful. We slept with the doors open the whole week! We slept great with the noise of the waves breaking on the beach. The condo was very clean and well maintained. Laura was very accomidating and made it a priority to make sure we were having a good time.The condo is about forty or so minutes from Honolulu, so the drive isn't bad if you want to go into town. If you stay here, you must visit the Ka'ena State Park at the end of Farrington Hwy. It is absolutely gorgeous! We had an awesome time at this condo and would love to return!

This was our second time staying in the Makaha Beach Cabanas (the previous stay two years ago was in a different unit in the same building.) We enjoyed our last trip so much, we decided to return to the same place. We enjoy the fact that Makaha is a little off the beaten path...away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu / Waikiki. If you are looking for a paradise away from the crowds, this is it. The beach that the condo is located on is beautiful, uncrowded, and features fun surf to play in! Plenty of turtles, whales and dolphins to spot.

I don't want to re-state everything that is in all of the other reviews, so will just say that everything about this condo is as promised. The unit itself is very clean and well equiped with all of the amenities you could need. Communication with Laura is esay, and she is very attentive to any questions or concerns you may have.

We have recommended staying in this condo to friends and family, and will likely end up staying there again next time we want to head to Hawaii.

This place is great. The beach is one of the most beautiful on the island. We seen sea turtles off the point and I even got a glimpse of an octopus which was surprising. Pleanty for a family or jusr a couple to do...the place was fully stocked with every thing you will need and more. There is even snorkeling gear and boogie boards. Its hard to find a nice place that feels like home,but this place did. The place is classy.would love to stay here again with our family to create more beautiful memories .....

This condo was exactly what we were looking for! We prefer to stay away from the mega-resorts that are crammed with people and completely lacking in local flavor and opportunities to get away from the crowds. The place is nicely decorated with an amazing view of the bay--I highly recommend our daily ritual of breakfast on the lanai. There were even times when we were the only ones on the beach (quite the contrast to where our friends stayed in Ko Olina... very little true nature left and certainly no quiet...plus 3 times the price of our place!) We always felt perfectly safe and really enjoyed exploring the area.

We tend to be a bit of food snobs, so definitely spent some time driving to get to restaurants, but it was completely worth it (the local restaurants were perfectly fine as well, just don't expect fine dining right nearby). Plus, with the kitchen, we really enjoyed being able to prepare our own breakfasts with local fruits and other goodies--had a smoothie every morning with the blender they provided!

If you're a more adventurous traveler and like exploring off the beaten path, or if you're just looking for a place to hunker down away from it all, this is a terrific choice. Going to sleep every night with the huge sliding door open and the sound of the waves just a few feet away makes this place pretty priceless.

Our stay at the Makaha Beach Cabana Condo was superb in every way. You absolutely cannot stay any closer to a gorgeous beach on Oahu than this beach condo. Beautifully remodeled and designed for comfort, with amazing views and awesome sunsets every evening. The owners were super accomodating and very efficient and the condo was spotlessly clean! I encourage anyone to not miss out on staying at this wonderful beach front condo! Thanks again for a great trip!

Where do I begin? This was my hubby and I first trip to Hawaii. After much research and planning we chose Laura and Jerry's condo in Makaha. First let me say the communication was awesome. Laura was patient with all my questions and concerns and graciously answered them all. Upon arriving in Hawaii you are overwhelmed by the aloha spirit! The people are amazing! We stayed for almost three weeks and in that time we never left Oahu. We used the condo as a base and toured the island every other day..on the off day we relaxed on the pristine beach at the condo. It was amazing ...simply amazing! The condo was incredibly clean and maintained ...the view from the lanai simply put "breathtaking"!!!! We made great use of the umbrella, chairs, beach towels and snorkel gear! You name it this condo provides it!

We cooked most of our own meals and found the local grocery stores wonderful ....mmm fresh produce..fruit and fish....and the aloha spirit of the people captivating!!!! The condo had a wonderful kitchen for cooking up amazing meals!

Our days on the beach were heaven...paradise...words can't express! Saw turtles and even swam with them! Sunsets ...oh the sunsets! Hubby loves photography so he was in heaven and lucky for me I have pictures and memories to last a lifetime. The condo is a great base..we easily adapted to the traffic and literally covered every part of the island. Dolphin excursions just down the road provide a great chance to swim with dolphins and turtles...I'm still smiling from the experience! Actually I cant stop smiling we had such a perfect vacation! So many wonderful places and I must say as far as beaches go...ours was one of the nicest we saw ...it was quiet....never crowded...always welcoming!!!! I'm in an airport on the way home but I had to write my review and sing the praises of Laura and Jerry's paradise by the sea!!!

If your looking to relax...you found it....want to sight see and don't mind a beautiful scenic drive .... You found it..... Great communication and a clean well equipped condo.... You found it!!!! Book with confidence!!! I can hardly wait to return! Oh yes we will be back...once the Aloha spirit calls to you ..you can't help but answer!!! Thank you soooo much to the property owners of this rental. We rented the property for 1 week to celebrate a 50th birthday and it was a little piece of paradise. The location could not be better...we loved the sound of the crashing waves from our bedroom...and it was so centrally located that we could get anywhere we wanted on the island. The interior of the unit was just as pictured and perfect for the 2 of us. Everything we could need or want was well thought out and provided. And to be just steps away from the beach was ideal for a stroll in the cove, or a swim in the surf without having to pack up and "go somewhere" for it. I would definitely return on my trip back to the islands!!
