Great apartment... but awful welcome!

We've spent one week in this apartment. The property is great: very clean, very confortable and well equipped. The location is excellent to visit Paris, indeed it's close to all facilities (shops and metro station) and to the Marais. Perhaps, it might be quite noisy if you aren't used to live in a busy street.
The owner Maxime was very kind and helpful with us but, due to a delay of our train, he wasn't able to welcome us. So, and unfortunately, his wife has done the check-in. Personally, we think that it has been the worse "welcome" ever!! Effectively, on the website we've read that different ways to pay the hire were possible, so we've thought that we could ask her if she preferred ready cash or a transfert. When we ask the question she's got stress and she's kicked us out of the flat. Then she said "I go to take my child at school. When I'll come back I want to see the cash". When she came back and she saw the cash she became extremely kind but her (false) friendliness was henceforth unnecessary. Maybe it has been our fault, it has been a misunderstanding, but it's very disappointing that an owner treats guests so badly. We think that this kind of job requires a little more of good manners. You can't treat your guests like thives simply beacause they thought they could pay a part of the hire by transfert. It was a horrible experience, so next time we'll chose another location. That's a pity because the apartment was great and confortable but Maxime's wife has been extremely unpolite.
Risposta del proprietario: This comment is really exagerated and impolite. First, this person does not respect her word : it was clearly agreed that she would bring the deposit in cash, and she arrived without any money. It is indicated on HomeAway that people can pay the deposit by bank transfer, but only before arriving, not after, of course. Second, she arrived 1 hour and 15 minutes late, wich can happen when you travel, but without any message to inform us of the arrival time. My wife who replaced me that day had to take my son at school, which created an embarrassing situation, because it is admitted that you should not let people enter the apartment without any deposit. So my wife called me and we agreed to asked her to get the money at the bank until she would come back after school less than 30 minutes later. It was the best arrangement we could find. This women may have been chocked, but it would not arrive if she came with the deposit.
I must say it is the first time that I have such a case of a person who does not respect her word. We do our best to welcome our guests, as is proven by all the other commentaries.
Maxime
